Matt Hawrilenko raised to 500 from early position and was called by Seat 7. The blinds got out of the way and the flop came

, Seat 5 bet 1,450 and was raised to 3,150 by Dennis Phillips. Seat 5 made the call and the turn came the 
. Phillips continued to be aggressive and fired out 6,200.
The bet was enough to get Seat 5 to fold and Phillips took down the pot, increasing his stack to 25,000. Of course Phillips' supporters blew the signature truck horn in celebration.
Alexandre Gomes raised to 500 from middle position and was called by the player in the hijack and the big blind. The flop came out 
and Gomes bet 850 after the big blind checked. The bet got the hijack out but the big blind stuck around.
The turn was the 
and Gomes fired out 1,275 after another big blind check. This appeared to be too much for the big blind as he quickly folded. Gomes brought his stack up to 27,000.

We were surprised to see Jason Somerville has been broken into the Red section, and we caught him involved in a pot when we walked over to check on him. There was a flop of 
on board, and Somerville was heads up with a female opponent. One of them had bet 1,550 on that flop and the other had shoved, though we're not sure which player was doing which action. Either way, all of the lady's ~8,500 chips ended up in the pot with Somerville covering her.

Lex Veldhuis seems quite comfortable at his table in a corner of the Blue Section. He's been steadily chipping up since play started. In a recent hand, a player checked a 
flop to Veldhuis, then called Veldhuis' bet of 2,750. The turn was the

Dustin "Neverwin" Woolf faced a 1,150 bet on a 
flop. He thought a minute before making the call. His opponent checked the

river, Woolf's opponent went back to betting - 2,200 this time. Neverwin studied the board, finally tossing a out a call with a grimace. His opponent immediately tapped the table, holding onto his cards but refusing to turn them over. Woolf wouldn't show his hand either. Finally at the dealer's urging, the first player flipped over

Toto Leonidas fired out 1,250 only to have Eric Froehlich make it 2,700 to go.
Leonidas made the call before both players checked the on the turn to see the dealer drop the on the river.
Leonidas led out for 3,500, and after about sixty seconds of deliberation, Froehlich made the call.
Leonidas tabled his and collected the pot to send him to 33,300 as Froehlich slipped to 23,800 in chips.
Eli Elezra limped under the gun and Seat 6 raised to 1,000. The big blind called and so did Elezra. The flop came out 
and action checked to Seat 6, who bet 1,700.
Both the big blind and Elezra called and the turn was the 
. Once again, both players checked to Seat 6 who bet 5,100. This time the big blind folded and action was on Elezra. It seemed as though he was contemplating a call or raise, but Elezra tossed his cards in the muck. He is down to 28,300.
The World Series of Poker has traditionally been a platform for cross promotion as celebrities from many walks of life come together on the felt. In the years past, we've seen movie stars, sporting legends, models and authors take their place in the Main Event field to grab the attention of the mainstream media and help to promote poker to non-poker playing fans.
In today's field we've spotted one celebrity, British-born German, Charlotte Roche, who is well known for being a television presenter, actress, singer and author. Her book Feuchtgebiete (in English "Wetlands") was the world's best-selling novel in March 2008. It has been described by its supporters as being "an erotic literary classic" while critics claim it to be "cleverly marketed pornography".
If Roche's talents on the poker felt are able to match those off it, then we're sure to see her pen a great story with a deep run in this Main Event. At the moment Roche is hovering around 28,000.
David Chicotsky raised to 500 under the gun, and the small blind called. In the big blind, Todd Terry raised it to 2,200. Chicotsky called, but the small blind got out of the way. The flop came out , and Terry bet out 3,000. The Maven flatted. After the on the turn, Terry decided to check, and Chicotsky checked as well. Terry went back to getting value out of the river with an 8,000-chip bet. The Maven called to see Terry's 
. Chicotsky couldn't beat it and dropped to 14,000. Terry moved up to 44,000. Guess the MavenVT needs a video on dodging bullets, baby.
