Steinberg Getting Short

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Jason Steinberg opened with a raise, and Mack Lee defended his big blind with a call.

The flop came {5-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}, and Lee check-called a bet. They both checked the {4-Diamonds} turn, and Lee led out with a bet of his own on the {6-Spades} river. Steinberg called.

We never saw Lee's cards, but we know he had {2-} {3-} for the wheel and the six-high straight. It doesn't matter what his other two cards are, that's good enough for a scoop. Steinberg is down to about 230,000 now, while Mack climbs to about 850,000.

Mikael Thuritz Eliminated in 8th Place ($54,837)

Mikael Thuritz - 8th Place
Mikael Thuritz - 8th Place

Steve Billirakis opened from early position, and the action folded to Mikael Thuritz who called all-in from the small blind. Richard Ashby called out of the big, and the flop came down {7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{k-Hearts}. Ashby led into a dry pot, and Billirakis called.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}, and Ashby slowed down, check-calling a bet from Billirakis. Ashby did the same after the {3-Clubs} fell on the river, and it was time for a showdown.

Billirakis: {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs} - High and Low
Ashby: {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades} - Low
Thuritz: Mucked - 8th Place and $54,837

Jason Steinberg Eliminated in 7th Place ($71,148)

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Jason Steinberg - 7th place
Jason Steinberg - 7th place

Richard Ashby opened from the cutoff seat, and Jason Steinberg called from the big blind. The two men took a {9-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {10-Spades} flop, and it would be the last of Steinberg's day. He check-raised when Ashby bet, and they each put in two small bets before the {3-Diamonds} turn. Steinberg led out for 100,000, then called off his remaining 30,000 to an Ashby raise.

Showdown
Ashby: {A-Spades} {3-Spades} {4-Clubs} {9-Spades}
Steinberg: {4-Hearts} {5-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}

Steinberg needed some help to stay alive, but he'd find none. The river {4-Diamonds} filled out the board, and Ashby let out a mini fist pump as he's eliminated a second consecutive player. This time he sends Steinberg to the rail, increasing his stack to 1.69 million in the process.

Lind Scooping

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

George Lind opened from early position, and the action folded to the blinds where Mack Lee (small) and Richard Ashby (big) both called. The flop came down {10-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Lee checked, and Ashby put out a bet. Both Lind and Lee called.

All three players checked the {a-Diamonds} on the turn, and the river was the suicide king; the {k-Hearts}. Lee and Ashby checked to Lind who tossed out a bet, but he found no caller and scooped the pot.

Rivet Very Short

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Guillaume Rivet raised preflop, and only Mack Lee gave him action, coming along in position.

The board ran out {8-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {8-Spades} with Rivet betting and Lee calling the whole way. At showdown, Lee's {A-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {2-Spades} {3-Clubs} was the winner, and Rivet flashed {A-} {J-} on the way into the muck. Ship the pot to Lee, and Rivet is now the shortest stack in the room with just around 300,000 chips.

Breaking Things

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

We've hit the end of the level and the start of our scheduled break. It'll be twenty minutes, and we'll snag some chip counts while you wait.

Level: 26

Blinds: 30,000/60,000

Chop it Up, Boys

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Viacheslav Zhukov raised from the button, and Guillaume Rivet three-bet next door. Zhukov called, and off they went to the flop.

It came {7-Spades} {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs}, and Rivet continued out with a bet, putting himself nearly all in. Zhukov raised the extra couple chips to commit his opponent, and the cards were on their backs.

Showdown
Zhukov: {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {J-Hearts}
Rivet: {A-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}

The turn {5-Spades} made Rivet the nut low, and the river {10-Spades} means it's a split pot. Two pair for Zhukov and the nut-low for Rivet, and it's off to the next hand.

Mack Daddy

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Steve Billirakis opened the pot and was called by Mack Lee from the small blind. Lee check-called on both the flop ({3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}), and the turn ({2-Diamonds}), but after the {a-Diamonds} fell on the river, Lee led out. Billirakis tank-folded, and the pot was pushed to Lee.
