Guillaume Rivet Eliminated in 6th Place ($92,908)

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Guillaume Rivet - 6th place
Guillaume Rivet - 6th place

Mack Lee raised before the flop, Richard Ashby called, and Guillaume Rivet came along for a three-way flop.

The dealer spread {2-Spades} {10-Hearts} {7-Spades}, and Rivet led out with a bet. Lee called, Ashby raised, and Rivet reraised all in for 160,000 total. Lee called again, Ashby raised again, and Lee called. Again. There was side action between those two as the turn came the {9-Spades}. Lee check-called a bet there, and he check-folded to one last bet on the {K-Spades} river.

Rivet needed to beat Ashby's {A-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} to stay alive, and he could not. He eventually was forced to show his {A-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {Q-}, the last showdown of his day. Ashby collects the pot and the knockout, and Rivet will have to settle for just shy of six figures as a consolation prize.

Devilish Flop for Ashby

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Steve Billirakis opened in the cutoff, Viacheslav Zhukov called on the button, and Richard Ashby defended his big blind. The flop fell {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}, and all three players checked. The three gentlemen knuckled the {7-Diamonds} on the turn as well, but after the {q-Spades} fell on the river, Ashby led out. Billirakis tank-called, and Zhukov mucked.

Ashby opened up {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for trip sixes, which was good enough to scoop the pot.

Billirakis With...Wait For It....a Double!

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Viacheslav Zhukov was first to act, and limped in. Richard Ashby raised on the button, Steve Billirakis made in three bets from the big blind, and only Ashby called. The flop came down {5-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs}, Billirakis led, Ashby raised, Billirakis raised all in, and Ashby called.

Billirakis: {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Ashby: {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The {2-Clubs} on the turn gave Ashby two pair, but it also gave Billirakis the nut-flush and the best low draw. Billirakis needed to dodge a deuce or a five on the river, and did so when the {a-Hearts} completed the hand.

Billirakis keeps fighting, and is back up to 650,000 chips.

Lind Grabs a Scoop

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
George Lind
George Lind

In a battle of the blinds, Richard Ashby raised to open the pot, and George Lind defended his forced bet with a call of the optional one.

The flop came out {7-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {3-Clubs}, and Lind called Ashby's continuation bet. The {9-Diamonds} turn drew another bet from Ashby, but this time Lind check-raised. Ashby spent a good while in the tank, but he eventually reraised to put Lind all in.

Showdown
Ashby: {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {7-Spades}
Lind: {A-Clubs} {2-Spades} {4-Clubs} {9-Spades}

Lind's nut-low and pair of nines were in front, but Ashby had outs to take half the pot. The river {9-Hearts} was a blank, though, and Lind gets the scoop. He's back over 900,000 now, and it was a hit Ashby could easily afford to take. He's still got heaps -- about 2 million.

King Richard

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Richard Ashby raised from the cutoff seat, and Viacheslav Zhukov called from the blinds. Zhukov proceeded to check-call a bet on the flop ({2-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}), and one on the turn ({10-Spades}), but check-folded after the {q-Hearts} paired the board on the river.

Ashby scooped another pot, and commands a serious chip lead.

Nut-Flush for Ashby

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Mack Lee opened from the cutoff, Richard Ashby made it two bets from the button, the blinds released, and Lee called. The flop came down {q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{q-Spades}, and Lee check-called a bet from Ashby. Both players checked the {9-Clubs} on the turn, and Lee checked a third time after the {4-Spades} was dealt on the river. Ashby put out another bet, Lee called, and Ashby opened {a-Spades}{3-Spades}{x-}{x-} for the nut-flush.

Lee mucked, and the Ashby raked yet another pot.

Lind All In

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

George Lind raised preflop, and Mack Lee called from the big blind to go heads-up.

The flop came {8-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {5-Spades}, and Lee check-called a bet. He did the same after the {5-Diamonds} river, and the {10-Clubs} put Lind all in for 130,000. Lee called one more time, showing up {A-} {4-} {X-} {X-} for the second-nut low. Lind's {2-} {3-} {4-} {5-} was good for the high half, and everyone gets their money back plus an extra 20,000.
