Brendan Taylor opened with a raise preflop, and Shaun Deeb raised to three bets. Taylor called, and it was heads up the rest of the way.
The flop came , and Taylor check-called a bet from Deeb. On the turn, Taylor checked again, and Deeb checked behind before the landed on fifth street. Taylor took the lead now, and Deeb called his bet.
"Ace-five," Taylor said, and Deeb shot out of his seat at the sight of his opponent's .
"Why the f*** did I give you that free card?!" Deeb yelled at himself. He gave his cards one last look before slapping them into the muck, and he's fallen back to 96,000 with that loss.
Brendan Taylor raised from under the gun, and the action folded all the way to Mack Lee and Mikael Thuritz who called from the blinds. The flop came down , Lee and Thuritz checked, and Taylor tossed out a bet. Both players called.
The turn brought the , Lee checked once more, and Thuritz tossed out a bet. Taylor called, and Lee folded.
The river was the , and Thuritz slowed down, checking to Taylor who bet. Thuritz tank-called, and Taylor tabled for a rivered wheel. Thuritz sighed with disbelief before mucking his hand, and the sizable pot was scooped by Taylor.
Mack Lee raised before the flop, and Josh Arieh defended his big blind.
The flop came , and Arieh led out with a bet. Lee called, and he called a big bet after the turn as well. Arieh had just 3,000 chips left, and he splashed them in as the hit the river. Lee quickly called, and we'd never see his cards.
Arieh turned up , and his ace-high flush gives him the double-up to 164,000.
Mikael Thuritz raised before the flop, and Shaun Deeb called from the big blind to go heads-up.
It came , and Deeb check-called a bet. On the turn, though, he led out, and Thuritz was the one doing the calling. On the river, the filled out the board, and Deeb had just one bet left. He thought for just a moment before sticking it in there, and Thuritz quickly called.
"Straight," Deeb announced, and it was no good. Thuritz's appeared on the other side of the felt, followed by the as the best four-card hand. Deeb dropped his cards down onto the table with a frustrated sigh, then quickly asked where to get his cashout ticket. It'll be worth just more than $20,000.
Alessio Isaia and Perry Green were heads up with the board reading . Green quickly check-called a bet, and the river brought the . Green check-called another bet, and Isaia tabled for a set of kings and the nut-low.
"Nice hand," Green muttered, mucking his hand.
Green is now on life support, while Isaia is looking to reach his second final table this week.
The action folded to Guillaume Rivet who raised from the small blind. Mack Lee defended his big blind, and the flop came down . Both players checked. The turn was the , Rivet led, and Lee called.
The river was the , and Rivet led once more. Lee paused momentarily before calling, prompting Rivet to show for a flopped wheel. Lee tossed his hand into the muck, and the pot was pushed to Rivet.
The very next hand, Rivet raised on the button, and was called by Lee and Mikael Thuritz in the blinds. All three players got three bets in on the flop, and after the turned, Thuritz bet once Lee checked. Rivet called, Lee mucked, and the river was the . Thuritz led, and Rivet called.
"You have aces?" Rivet asked, tabling for tens full of aces. Thuritz shook his head, "no," opened for just trip tens, and mucked the losing hand.
With those two pots, Rivet has propelled back into the chip lead with over a million to his name.
We joined a three-way pot as the dealer put out a flop. Brendan Taylor and George Lind checked, and Guillaume Rivet made the bet. Taylor check-raised, Lind cold-called, and Rivet called the extra bet to see the turn. Taylor led out with a bet, both opponents called, and the filled out the board. Lind folded to the Taylor bet this time, but Rivet called to see the showdown.
Taylor:
Rivet:
Rivet gets quartered as he can only take half of the low pot. Taylor's flush is good for the high half, and that and the extra quarter move him up to 645,000. Rivet is doing just fine -- he's still got about 1.05 million in front of him.
Perry Green came in raising before the flop, and Viacheslav Zhukov and Michael Chow (big blind) both came along with calls.
The flop came , and Chow led out with the first bet. Perry raised, Zhukov cold-called, and Chow called the extra bet to see the turn. Chow checked, Perry bet all in for 27,000, Zhukov raised, and now Chow cold-called the 57,000 to see the river. Chow check-called one last bet from Zhukov.
Perry:
Zhukov:
Chow: --muck--
Perry and Zhukov chop it up, and that's good news for Perry. He's back close to 150,000, while Zhukov moves up over the half-million chip mark.
We picked up the action on the flop as Mike Sexton was betting the . Brendan Taylor was his only opponent in the pot, and he called to see the turn. Sexton checked this time, and Taylor took his cue to bet. Sexton snuck in the check-raise, and Taylor called the extra bet to see the river. Sexton bet all but his last 5,000 chips, and Taylor called.
Mr. Sexton announced, "Nut-nut," in that made-for-TV voice and we childishly giggled just a little bit. He turned up , and his wheel and six-high straight earn him the scoop and the double up to about 295,000.
