Croll Bluffs, Gets Coolered

"That was an unfortunate turn."
"That was an unfortunate turn."

If there is one table in the Blue Section of the Amazon Room that's having fun, it's without a doubt Table 278.

In one particular hand, James "Croll" Carroll raised from early position, Darren Woods put in three bets near the button, and Carroll called. The two checked the flop ({j-Spades}{a-Spades}{3-Spades}), and the turn ({3-Clubs}), and Carroll checked a third time after a fourth spade - the {4-Spades} ironically - fell on the river. Woods tossed out a bet, Carroll immediately check-raised, and Woods folded.

Carroll opened up {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for air - to the delight of everyone at the table, including Woods - and shipped the pot.

"If I had the {6-Spades}," Jesse Chinni said through laughter. "I would've called so fast."

The very next hand Chinni and Carroll dueled. Chinni raised on the button, Carroll put in three bets, Chinni put in four bets, and Carroll called. Carroll checked dark, Chinni bet dark, and the flop came down {3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Carroll called.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds}, and Carroll check-raised Chinni. Chinni made it three bets, and Carroll called.

Carroll checked dark and Chinni bet dark before the river brought the {a-Clubs}. Carroll called.

"Do you have an ace?" Carroll said showing two kings.

Chinni didn't respond, rather he opened {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for a set of nines.

"That was an unfortunate turn," Carroll joked.
