Negreanu Continues Hot Streak

Level 11 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Daniel Negreanu and a short stacked opponent got in a raising war preflop that saw all the chips get in the middle. The cards were flipped, and Negreanu was a big underdog.

Opponent: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Negreanu: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The flop brought no help, coming {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}. But the {k-Spades} came on the turn, rocketing Negreanu into the lead. The river fell the {10-Spades}, and Negreanu claimed another bounty, as he upped his stack to 208,000.

Minimal Value for Arieh’s Ace-High Flush

The player in the hijack raised and Josh Arieh called from the small blind. Both players checked on the {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and Arieh bet when the {8-Spades} hit the turn. His opponent made the call and both players checked again when the {3-Hearts} hit the river. Arieh turned over {A-Spades}{10-Clubs} for an ace-high flush but only managed to get one bet out of his opponent post-flop. Nevertheless, Arieh has a fairly nice stack at the moment.

Full House for Engel

Just before the last level up, an under-the-gun-player raised, Ari Engel three-bet from the cutoff, and Steve Landfish opted for a four-bet from the button. The UTG player went ahead with the cap, and both his opponents made the call.

When the flop came down {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, UTG led out and both opponents called, which is the same action that occurred on the {8-Hearts} turn. When the {8-Clubs} peeled off on the river, UTG bet, Engel called, and Landfish got out of the way. The UTG player revealed {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}, but it was no good against the {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} full house of Engel.

Lindgren Triples, Then Eliminated Alongside Richey

Level 12 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Erick Lindgren- Out
Erick Lindgren- Out

Eric Lindgren raised all in under the gun for 2,900 total, and it folded around to Brett Richey in the small blind. He raised, and Brock Parker called in the big blind. The flop came out {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, and Richey got his last 4,700 in against Parker and all the cards were flipped.

Lindgren: {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Richey: {k-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Parker: {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Lindgren had top pair, Parker had second pair, and Richey needed some help. The turn and river came the {q-Spades}{7-Hearts}, and Lindgren tripled up, with Parker collecting the side pot and knocking out Richey.

On the next hand hand, Lindgren and Andre Akkari got in a raising war in the blinds that saw Lindgren put his newly won chips on the line. Unfortunately for Lindgren, he was dominated.

Lindgren: {q-Spades}{3-Spades}
Akkari: {k-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

The board ran out {2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, and Akkari scooped the pot to up his stack to 43,000.

All You Do is Check-Check-Check

The always aggressive Mikhail Smirnov raised on the button and Antoine Saout re-raised from the small blind. Smirnov made it three bets and Saout made the call. On all three streets of the {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{J-Hearts} board, Saout checked first followed by a Smirnov bet. On each street, Saout’s action afterwards was different. On the flop, Saout just called, on the turn he raised and Smirnov called. On the river, Saout tank folded which gave Smirnov the pot.

Potential Clash Of The Titans?

Level 12 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Daniel Negreanu's table was just broken, and as they were getting their new seats, we were discussing the fact that there were two empty seats at Carlos Mortensen's table. Sure enough, Negreanu took the seat three to Mortensen's left, and it should provide for some potential fireworks, as Negreanu and Mortensen are the only players over 200,000 by our counts.
