No Limit Hold'em

A short stacked Max Pescatori moved all in preflop for 84,000 in chips. Action folded around to Brandon Meyers who made the called.

Meyers : {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Pascatori: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

A {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} was put out and Pescatori was eliminated after he wasn't able to grab hold of anything to keep him alive in this tournament.

Arora Takes Huge Hit

Limit Hold'em

Adam Sanders raised the action preflop only to find a three-bet from Aalok Arora. Sanders made the call and the two saw the {J-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop. Sanders checked to Arora who bet out. Sanders raised and Arora quickly three-bet. Sanders made the call and the turn brought the {Q-Hearts}. Sanders check-raised again and Arora called.

The river was the {2-Hearts} and Sanders bet out. Arora called but was disheartened to see Sander turn up {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs} for top two pair and the winning hand.

Brandon Meyers raised under the gun, and was quickly reraied by Dylan Drazen, Pieter De Korver then three bet, Meyers called, Drazen then four bet, Korver called, and finally Meyers called. A {j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop was spread out and Meyers checked, Drazen then bet Korver raised, Meyers called, Drazen three bet, Korver called and was all in, Meyers then called.

A {7-Hearts} turn brought a check raise from the forgotten Meyers, Drazen made the call and got to see the {5-Hearts} land on the river. Meyers bet again and Drazen called.

Meyers showed {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a turned straight. Korver showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a missed flush draw, and later we found out Drazen held {A-}{a-}.

On a {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop Brandon Meyers bet and was raised by Dylan Drazer. With a {k-Diamonds} turn Meyers check called another bet from a now short stacked Drazen.

The {k-Clubs} river brought a Meyers bet, and a two bet all in from Drazen. Meyers called and showed {2-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for run-run trip kings. Drazen held a measly {A-}{10-} and was eliminated after his pair of tens couldn't hold up.

Day 2 In The Books; Final Table Set!

Level 18
Brandon Myers leads going into final table
Brandon Myers leads going into final table

Twelve hours ago 135 players sauntered into the blue section of the Amazon Room to tackle day two of Event #52: $2,500 Mixed Hold’em (Limit/No Limit). Now only nine remain. When the floor staff announced only three hands remained in the night, action seemed to open up and we managed to lose two players, bringing us down to the final nine. Now our official final table will appear tomorrow to do battle one last time.

No clear chip leader has dominated throughout the day, as players traded chips back and forth consistently during the limit rounds. However, at the end of play tonight, Brandon Meyers rose above the rest with a commanding stack of 1,200,000. Behind him is Noah Boeken with 599,000 and Matt Matros rounds out the top three with 535,000. Matros will be in the hunt for his second taste of WSOP prestige tomorrow, winning his first WSOP bracelet in the $1,500 Limit Hold’em Event in 2010.

Today’s starting field of 135 had a slew of casualties today. The steep structure of the limit rounds left players with average-stack around eleven to thirteen big bets all day. One of the major notables to hit the rail today was Joseph Cheong who began the day as one of the chip leaders. For the first half of the day Cheong continued his domination, remaining one of the chip leaders. After the dinner break Cheong seemed to lose his momentum and eventually bled chips until he busted in 37th place. Also among those to hit the rail today were Mike Matusow, Jeffrey Lisandro, Erica Schoenberg, Maria Ho, Jimmy Fricke and Michael Binger.

Here is the seating draw for tomorrow's final table:

SeatPlayerChip Count
1Adam Sanders179,000
2Matt Matros535,000
3Matt Hawrilenko422,000

6Aalok Arora271,000
7Brandon Meyers1,200,000
8Nikolay Losev509,000
9Jonathan Lane246,000

Returning tomorrow will be the final nine players to claim WSOP glory in the form of a gold bracelet and $303,501 first place money. Continue to follow us tomorrow at 3pm PST here at PokerNews for the most current updates regarding this lightning-paced Mixed Hold’em tournament!
