You Can't Spare $10?

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

During hand-for-hand play, Gretchen "The Dragon Lady" Brummer stood up out of her seat and called across the room to all the other players.

"Hey!" she said, "Does everybody want to put in $10?"

"What for?" cried another player.

"For the BUBBLE!" was the reply in unison from Brummer's table.

"Is everybody happy with that? Do we all want to put in $10?"

The majority of players agreed, but one player said no. "Motion denied," said the tournament director, much to the amusement of all on the rail.

Wendy Cordiner: A Happy Bubble Girl?

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We have just seen quite the spectacle over here at the lady event. We just reported that there was an attempt to put $10 in per person for the bubble girl, but since everyone didn't agree, play continued. Well on the next hand, Wendy Cordiner open shoved her last 9,000 in middle position with {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and was called by Sarah Herzali,who had {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Unfortunately for Cordiner, the board ran out {3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, and she was the bubble girl.

It just so happens that Cordiner was sitting right next to Gretchen "The Dragon Lady" Brummer, who was the original organizer. As soon as Cordiner lost the hand, Brumemr shot out of her chair, and said "Who wants to donate 10 dollars for her?" Over the next three minutes, several players ran around the room, collecting cash from each table to give to Cordiner. In the end, Cordiner looked to collect close to her buy in back in 10's and 20's, making the sting of being the bubble girl not too bad. Congratulations to all of the ladies left, we are in the money!!

Strafford's Ladies Double Her Up

We missed the exact preflop action, however, Helene Strafford ended up getting all in against Kirsten Schreiber and revealed hands showed that both were in a race situation heading into the flop.

Schreiber: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Strafford: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The board came {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, giving Strafford a full-house and the pot worth 24,000.

Schreiber slipped to 45,000.

Mansfield Eliminated

A lot of the ladies have been doubling up since the bubble burst, but we did catch the elimination of Janice Mansfield.

All the money was in the middle before the flop; Mansfield had moved the last of her very short stack in from early position with {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}, but Dana Jewell woke up in late position with {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}.

Both players filled up on the board of {10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, but Jewell's hand was best and Mansfield was sent to the rail to collect her winnings.

Delvecchio Done For

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Lisa Delvecchio came into today with just 8,400 in chips, which equal 8.5 big blinds. She was able to hold on until the money, but she just became one of our first causalities after the bubble burst. Action folded around to Jennifer Cox, who shoved the last of her short stack in on the button. It folded to Delvecchio, who called off her last 6,000. The cards were flipped, and Delvecchio was slightly ahead.

Delvecchio: {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Cox: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The flop helped Cox out a ton, coming {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. The turn came the {k-Hearts}, giving Cox an unbeatable two pair. The meaningless river brought the {2-Clubs}, and Cox claimed the bounty to boost her stack to 15,000.

Tkacheva Doubles Through Herzali

Sarah Herzali opened for 2,700 from the button and Elena Tkacheva re-raised all in for 17,100 total. Herzali tanked for a bit and counted out a call before eventually sliding into the middle.

Tkacheva: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Herzali: {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

The {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-} board left Tkascheva with a straight and she doubled up to 36,000.

Herzali, on the other hand, fell to 32,000.

It's Time to Go, Cho

Hana Cho has just been sent to the rail at the hands of Carol Tomlinson as the action continues here in the 2011 WSOP Ladies Event.

From the UTG +1 position, Cho shoved with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and the action folded around to Tomlinson who called out of the big blind with {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}.

Tomlinson then took the lead after she paired her jack on the flop of {7-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Cho was unable any love on either the turn of the {3-Spades} or the river {3-Diamonds} and was consigned to the barrier.

We can also confirm that Courtney Gee, Cynthia Patterson and Lisa Hamilton have also acquired their money from the cashier.
