Max Action

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Max Lykov hasn't wasted much time in getting involved since arriving slightly late. Harald Olsen raised to 100,000 and Lykov made it 255,000 from the small blind but then snap folded when Olsen reraised to 1.1 million.

The next hand saw Joshua Evans make it 130,000 from UTG only to fold when Lykov made it 255,000 on the button.

Finally Lykov raised to 100,000 and Olsen called to see a {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop. Olsen led out for 135,000 but snap-folded when Lykov made it 325,000.

Alekhin Gets First Double of the Day

Action folded around to Stanislav Alekhin in the small blind who moved all in for 750,000. Joshua Evans was in the big blind and didn't think too long before deciding to call.

Alekhin: {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Evans: {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

The flop came {9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} giving Alekhin a pair of nines but also giving Evans a gutshot straight draw. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river was the {7-Spades} and Alekhin doubled his stack to 1,500,000. After the hand Evans was only left with 530,000.

No Joy For Roy

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Sebastien Roy opened to 125,000 from middle position and Warren Wooldridge called in the big blind. Both players checked the {2-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop and then the {2-Clubs} turn. Wooldridge led out for 125,000 on the {9-Clubs} river and Roy snap-called, flipping over {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} but Wooldridge showed {A-Spades}{5-Spades} for aces to win the pot.

Olsen Takes Some From Lykov

After a flop of {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Spades} Max Lykov checked it over to Harald Olsen who bet 135,000. Lykov called and they saw the {2-Hearts} come on the turn. Lykov again check-called a bet from Olsen, this time for 300,000. When the {a-Diamonds} came on the river Lykov checked a third time and Olsen announced he was all in for a little over 1,000,000. Lykov debated a bit before releasing his hand and Olsen scooped up the pot.

Sebastien Roy Eliminated in 9th Place ($53,333)

Sebastien Roy
Sebastien Roy

Max Lykov raised to 125,000 from UTG and Sebastein Roy reraised all in next to him for about 700,000 or so. It was passed back to Lykov who wasted very little time in making the call.

Roy: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Lykov: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The flop was {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} and all was looking good for the Canadian but the {A-Diamonds} on the turn meant any paint would send him home. The river was the {J-Hearts} and Lykov backdoored into the nuts to increase his chip lead even further.

Roy goes out in 9th, good for over $50,000.

Douglas MacKinnon Eliminated in 7th Place ($90,604)

Douglas Mackinnon - Eliminated in 7th Place ($90,604)
Douglas Mackinnon - Eliminated in 7th Place ($90,604)

Action folded to DJ MacKinnnon in middle position who moved all in for his last 740,000. Everyone got out of the way except for Max Lykov in the big blind who called.

MacKinnon: {q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Lykov: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

MacKinnon's rail starting yelling for a queen to come and indeed that would be the card he would need to hit to stay alive. Unfortunately for MacKinnon the board ran out {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades} and he was eliminated in seventh place, good for a $90,604 payday.
