"Misread the Seven"

Eric Baldwin
Eric Baldwin

Eric Baldwin just doubled up Amir Lehavot after the former's {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} failed to crack the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} of the former. "I misread the seven," Baldwin joked after the hand.

Meanwhile, Thomas Bichon has been eliminated from the tournament, though we're not sure of the details.

Pocket Tens the Hand to Beat

John Juanda
John Juanda

Just before the break, Gabriel Thaler was eliminated at the hands of Owen Crowe. It happened when Thaler's {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} failed to improve against Crowe's {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} as the board ran out {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{J-Clubs}.

In other news, John Juanda doubled after holding {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} against the {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} of Michael Benvenuti. That board ran out {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Juanda turned his 65,400 into 135,000.

Adeniya Eliminated by Kings of Somerville

Sorel Mizzi opened for 7,000 and was called by Jason Somerville. Martins Adeniya then moved all in from the button for 32,000, which pushed Mizzi from the hand. Somerville made the quick call and Adeniya discovered the bad news.

Somerville: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Adeniya: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The {Q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{A-Clubs} flop gave Adeniya a little hope by pairing his queen, but he was going to need another lady to stay alive. The {10-Diamonds} turn meant the players would chop with a jack on the river. The dealer slowly burned and revealed the {6-Hearts}. Adeniya, who was flying high as one of the chip leaders early on Day 2, was eliminated from the $10,000 PLH Championship.

Eric Cloutier Finds Aces

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Eric Cloutier and Steve Gross built a 15,000 pot preflop. The watched {5-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} fall and Cloutier led out with 7,000. Gross potted and Cloutier moved all in. Gross tabled {J-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} for a flush draw and Cloutier was ahead holding {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds}.

The turn and river bricked for Gross finishing {4-Hearts} {7-Clubs}. He sent over 55,300 to Cloutier, who built his stack to over 110,000.

Oliver Continues to Build

Chip leader Chris Oliver raised to 6,600 from early position only to have Jason DeWitt reraise to 16,500 from the hijack. The blinds got out of the way and Oliver made the call, leading to a flop of {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. Both players shied away from the betting and checked in turn.

This opened the window for Oliver to lead out on the {J-Diamonds} turn, to which DeWitt quickly folded.
