Gross Left With Less Than One Blind

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

The tournament director had already announced that play would last six more hands while Sam Stein and Steve Gross were in a hand. With over 100,000 in the pot by the river, the board was {J-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {4-Spades} {2-Spades} {J-Clubs}. Stein moved all in on the river, which sent Gross deep into the tank. After several minutes Eric Cloutier called for a clock and Gross insta-called.

Stein tabled {J-Clubs} {8-Clubs} for rivered trips and Gross mucked his hand. The stacks were very close and Gross was left with only 6,000 - not enough to match the 8,000 big blind.
