Chen Moves On, Froehlich Out

Tommy Chen
Tommy Chen

We just caught the huge pre flop all in between Tommy Chen and Eric Froehlich who got their money all in pre flop. Tommy Chen showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and jumped his chair in excitement when Froehlich turned over {q-Spades}{J-Spades}. The board ran out {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and Chen got a huge double up. He was all in for 164,800 and with one lammer behind he took a huge lead.

Froehlich was down to around 71,000 when, according to Chen, he moved all in pre flop with {10-}{8-}. Chen called with {K-}{K-} and his hand held up giving him a seat in the final 16. Froehlich, who finished fourth in the $25,000 Heads Up Championship last year, got knocked out and added a min cash to his impressive list of results.

Antonio Advances

Antonio Esfandiari
Antonio Esfandiari

Scott Baumstein's preflop raise was called by Antonio Esfandiari, landing a {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop to the board. A flurry of bets and raises followed, culminating with Baumstein all in with {K-}{3-} against Esfandiari's {K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. No miracle came for Baumstein, as the {9-Spades} turn and {A-Hearts} river ended his tournament.

Esfandiari moves on to face the winner of Tommy Chen vs Eric Froehlich.

Venovski Takes Block Down

Alex Venovksy
Alex Venovksy

In a very short time span Alexander Venovski just won two all ins against Keith Block giving him a spot in the final 16. We didn't get the action but the board read {8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} when Keith Block's {K-}{Q-} got mucked and Alexander Venovski secured himself of a huge double up.

Block had to cash in his final 80,000 chip lammer and just moments later both players got it all in again. Venovski showed {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} against Block's {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and the board showed us {10-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}. Block is out and Venovski is one step close to winning one of the most prestiges WSOP gold bracelets.

Eric Froehlich is making another heads-up tournament run
Eric Froehlich is making another heads-up tournament run

Welcome to Day 2 of Event 12, the $10,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em. A field of 152 came to play and after two matches for some (and three for others), only 32 remain with hopes of capturing the coveted WSOP gold bracelet. Many notable players remain, including last year's fourth-place finisher in the $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em affair last summer. Eric Froehlich brings his A-game when it comes to playing heads-up and following his wins against Ronald Crabtree, Jason Somerville, and Steve O'Dwyer, Froehlich has put himself into position to capture his third WSOP bracelet.

Here is the bracket of matches from the round of 128 until now:
