Seidel Crippled

Level 3 : 400/800, 100 ante

Most recently over at table #451 we found the under the gun player making it 2,000 preflop. The next person in line to act made the call, and Eric Seidel who was next to act repopped to 7,300. The button was next to act and he opted to move all in for around 45,000. Everyone else decided that was to rich for their blood and folded, except Seidel who went into the tank. Seidel seemed to weigh both options pretty heavily, eventually though he went with a call.

Seidel: {A-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The dealer then exposed a {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop which was no help to Seidel. A {6-Diamonds} on the turn meant that only an ace or a king could appear on the river for Seidel to claim the pot. He received no such luck as the river came out the {q-Hearts}. Seidel now sits with around 8,000 in chips and is in dire need of help if he wants to make it to day three.

Wilkins Follows Ramirez Out the Door

Matt Wilkins found a good spot to get his 25,000 stack in but ran into a bigger hand.

Todd Boghosian opened to 2,500 from the hijack before Gavin Smith three-bet to 6,400 from the seat. Wilkins was on the button and shoved. Boghosian took his time and called, which was enough to scare off Smith.

Wilkins: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Boghosian: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The board ran {k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

Woah!

Level 4 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

While walking around the room we heard a whole table simultaneously yell "woah!". We then ran over to see what had happened. Jarred Solomon's {Q-}{6-} was up against an all in Titan Leard's {2-}{2-}.We don't know when Leard got all in, but it appears that they didn't get it all in preflop. The board read {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs} with a river {2-Clubs}. Leard hitting a set of twos is the reason for the yelps of surprise. With much fist bumping the whole table seemed pretty excited about the result, except maybe a silent Solomon.

Woods and Noah Sail Away

Barry Woods lost his tournament life after a three-way all-in on his table. Another player he told me that he had pocket eights to Mitchell Foss' ace-jack and Joseph Urgo's pocket aces.

The ace-jack hand of Foss scooped to triple-up. Urgo took the side pot and Woods was eliminated.

Neil Mcfayden busted just as we were about to publish this post.

Klinging to Chips

Level 4 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Within the table of death lies the seat of death, the owner of this seat is none other than Lauren Kling. Kling's chair happens to be between Jeff Madsen and David Sands, two powerhouses in the field. Joe Cada is also two players to her left, but Kling seems to be holding her own.

Recently we saw her open a pot for 2,600 from late position. The big blind was the only one willing to pay, and a {Q-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop was shown. The big blind checked and Kling continued for 3,800. A call was made and both players were off to the turn. It was here that the {9-Hearts} made an appearance. Again the big blind checked and Kling bet out 8,900. The big blind took a few seconds before shaking his head and opting to fold.

Some Doubles and a Bust

  • Ryan Rinker busted to leave seven players remaining at his table.
  • Zachary Korik and Thomas Fuller played out a huge pot after seeing a {7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop. All the chips went in and Fuller's {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} held versus Korik's {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. Korik dropped to 2,500 and Fuller rose to around 95,000.
  • Padraig Parkinson is up to 32,000 after his pocket tens survived an all-in versus Justin Schwartz's {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Schwartz is still doing well on 60,000 chips

Gavin Smith Out

Gavin Smith
Gavin Smith

We don't know how the action went, but we do know Gavin Smith managed to get all in and at risk by the hands of Carlos Mortensen. Smith held {8-}{8-} while the Matador had {A-}{J-}.

With a {A-}{J-}{3-}{10-}{9-} board being spread Smith was eliminated from the tournament. Mortensen's stack continues to grow and possesses a stack almost as high as his chin.

Five More Join the Pile

Michael Palma found {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} in late position and got action from Justin Schwartz with {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

The board ran {3-Spades}{j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}{q-Hearts} to make Justin Schwartz a set. He and Carlos Mortensen have most the chips at their, now, five-handed table.
