Saccone and Shawn

Joseph Saccone opened it up from middle position and Shawn Keller made it three bets directly on his left. No other player wanted to rumble, while Saccone flicked in a call.

Saccone opted to check-call every street of the {8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} board as Keller tumbled in a small bet on the flop and a big bet on the turn and river. In the end, Keller's {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} was strong enough to take down the pot and send Saccone's cards into the muck.

Nassif and Negreanu

Gabriel Nassif and Daniel Negreanu have just rumbled in a hand over on their table and we were there to catch all the action. Negreanu opend it from under the gun, a player a couple of spots to his left called, so too did the small blind and Nassif also called in the big blind.

On the {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop, the small blind and Nassif checked and Negreanu bet. The player to his left called and the small blind put in the check-raise. Nassif opted to call and Negreanu got out of the way, along with the player to his left.

The {7-Clubs} turn would see the small blind bet and Nassif call. The {a-Hearts} then hit the river and this time the player checked. Nassif then flicked out a bet and his opponent called. Nassif tabled {9-Spades}{5-Spades}, his flopped two-pair enough to take down the pot.

Buchanan Busto

Shawn Buchanan will have to stay on the modern-day version of the 'best players without a bracelet' list, as he has recently been seen making his way out of the tournament area. Remarkably Buchanan has almost $5 million in tournament winnings over a several year span and is yet to take down a bracelet. However, he is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, with several final tables in all forms of the game, including a 2nd-place finish in $10,000 H.O.R.S.E event at the 2011 World Series of Poker.

Negreanu Wins One

Daniel Negreanu has just managed to take down a small pot that went a little something like this. Folded to in late position, Negreanu raised it up and received one caller from the button. The {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} was dealt on the flop and Negreanu would check-call a bet from his opponent. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn would see both players check and the dealer slammed down a {7-Spades} on the river. This time Negreanu would fired out a bet and his opponent would slide his cards into the muck as Negreanu took down the pot.

Warwick Busts One

Australia's Warwick Mirzikinian finished Day 1 of this tournament with second largest chip stack and has also had a good start today. Recently Mirzikian knocked out Dale Burner.

Burner, who started the day with only 1,200 in chips, managed to survive and thrive in the early stages of play but the end of his tournament life began when he got his last remaining chips in against Mirzikinian on a {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop. Burner held {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and would need some help against Mirzikinian's {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}. When the turn and river bricked out, it was all over for Burner, while Mirzikinian gets richer.
