Luske Lives On

Roberto Rodrigues started out a recent hand by making it 4,600 to anyone who wanted to see a flop. Marcel Luske in the small blind was the only one willing to make the call and did so.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Luske checked. Rodrigues opted to bet, and pushed forward 6,600. Luske made the call quite quickly and both players were off to the turn.

With the {4-Diamonds} appearing on fourth-street we saw both players knuckle the felt for a check.

A river {8-Clubs} saw Luske bet out 6,000. Rodrigues couldn't find it in himself to make the call and deposited his cards in the muck.

Stacks on Stacks

Table 403 is turning into a table giant stacks. With 5 people over 70,000 this is one table a player does not want to get moved to.

Recently we saw a short stacked Sandy Smith get all in against an opponent holding {K-Spades}{4-Spades}. Smith's opponent, Jay Hong held {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

The flop came {5-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts} giving Smith a flush draw for some hope. A {k-Clubs} on the turn put the hand in Smith's favor, but a {9-Spades} on the river took it away from him. Smith did not seem to noticed his opponent hit a full house and jumped for joy exclaiming "flush! flush! flush!". Smith was quickly made aware of the situation and disappointingly walked away from the tournament.

Big Pot for Carruthers

John Carruthers was all in preflop while Miles Lewis and Ted Rogers were in action for a side pot. The main pot was approximately 90,000 in chips.

The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts} and both Lewis and Rogers checked. They also checked the {2-Spades} on the turn and the {8-Hearts} on the river. Because they checked it down all the way, no side pot was created.

Lewis showed the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, Rogers showed the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Carruthers the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}. Carruthers won the three-way pot and tripled up.
