David Forster Eliminated in 9th Place ($34,503)

David Forster - 9th Place
David Forster - 9th Place

Our first elimination of the final table has just occurred, with David Forster the man to be sent home. It all started when the action was folded around to Rocco Palumbo in the cutoff. He opened it up to 48,000. Forster was directly on his left on the button and three-bet to 105,000. With the play folded back around to Palumbo, he took a few moments before announcing the all in. Forster shrugged and said, "I call."

Forster: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Palumbo: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Forster would need plenty of help and while the turn card on a {2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades} board gave him a sweat for the straight, the {4-Clubs} river was no help and Forster was sent home.

Quiet Times

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

The players have been very quiet here early, with a preflop raise taking down the blinds and antes the last three hands in a row.

Mittelman Takes Some Off Elia

Kevin Elia opened to 61,000 from the cutoff and action folded around to Niel Mettelman in the big blind, who made the call.

Both players checked the {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop, however, Mittelman would lead out for 65,000 on the {5-Spades} turn. Elia responded by raising to 152,000 and Mittelman called.

The {2-Clubs} completed the board and both players checked.

Mittelman tabled {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of eights and Elia rapped the table in mucked.

No Action for Everett

Nelson Robinson opened the action to 40,000 from early position. Rocco Palumbo was directly on his left and made the call. The play was then on Jason Everett in the cutoff and he shoved all in for what looked like around 500,000. Anke Berner then took her time to fold out of the big blind and it was back on Robinson.

An immediate fold from Robinson and Palumbo would fold just as quickly, sending the pot to Everett.

Palumbo Draws First Blood

Rocco Palumbo opened to 40,000 from middle position and found one caller in Jason Everett on the button.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Palumbo c-bet for 37,000. Everett called.

Both players checked the {10-Clubs} turn, however, Palumbo would lead out for 105,000 on the {J-Hearts} river. Everett mucked after some thought and slipped to 540,000.

Palumbo is up to 910,000.
