Welcome to Event #44: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em
Good afternoon and welcome to Event #44: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em.
These are the competitions that the amateur players flock to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) for. A relatively inexpensive opportunity to sit and play poker with the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu. What other game or sport in the world allows fans and players to mix so up close and personal?
During last years event that is exactly what happened, as Kenneth Griffin secured his first ever live cash, $455,356 in prize money and a WSOP gold bracelet after overcoming a final table containing Andrew Teng and Antonio Esfandiari.
We are assuming that the attendance figure will head over the 1,500 mark and if it does we will be playing eleven levels of sixty-minutes. There will be a twenty-minute dinner break at the end of every two-levels, and a ninety-minute dinner break at the end of level-six.
The action starts at 12:00 PM and PokerNews will be bringing you all of the stories from Day 1 of Event #44 as it happens in the Brasilia, Amazon and Pavilion rooms.
