Dinner Break

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

The completion of Level 14 means it's time for the dinner break. Players will be gone for an hour, which means we will as well. Be sure to check back then as there are still four levels of action to be had this evening.

Bell Booming Late

Chris Bell has had a great later part of the evening, managing to pick up plenty of chips. He recently added to his stack yet again during this hand with one opponent. The player in question was under the gun and opened up the pot to 5,000. Only Bell would make the call, coming along for the ride on the button.

On the {q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop, Bell's opponent led out for 6,000 and Bell made the call. A {5-Diamonds} was then dealt on the turn and this time Bell took his time before checking. Bell then cut out a bet of 15,000 and placed the chips in the middle of the felt. That bet was too strong for Bell's opponent as Bell raked in a few more chips.

Sklar vs. Field

Action folded to Josh "JJProdigy" Field on the button and he raised to 4,800, which Richard Sklar called from the big blind. Both players proceeded to check the {9-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, bringing about the {7-Clubs} on the turn.

This time Sklar took the initiative and led out for 10,000, which was enough to get Field to fold his hand. Despite that win, Sklar is down considerably from the last time we checked in with him.

Loren Klein with the Chips

Loren Klein has managed to accumulate one of the largest chip stacks at this stage of the tournament, holding well over 200,000. Klein has had plenty of success at the World Series of Poker in the past, having over $300,000 in tournament winnings on his resume, including a 2nd place finish in a pot-limit omaha event at the 2010 WSOP.

Go, Go Johnico

"Yes," we heard from Table 365. The shout came from Felicia Johnico, who went over to her rail in celebration. We made our way over to discover that she had nailed the river to scoop a massive pot.

From what we could piece together, Johnico got he stack of around 68,000 all in on the turn with a board reading {K-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{A-Hearts}. She held {2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades}{A-Diamonds} for the nut low and a straight draw, and was looking to beat her opponent's {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} set of kings. Obviously by her reaction she was able to do that, which happened when the {5-Diamonds} spiked on the river.

We'd like to be able to provide you with the name of the gentleman who lost, but we've learned through experience that asking someone their name after losing a pot as big as that one isn't really a good idea.

Bronshtein Building

Despite the fact we just watched Yuval Bronshtein lose a small pot on a {4-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{k-Spades} board against an opponent who held {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}, Bronshtein has still managed to see his chip stack rise above 180,000 during this early stage of the evening. Bronshtein has already had success in an event which has similarities to this one, finishing in fifth place in Event 42: $2,500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Low 8-or-Better.

Karsli vs. Ohel

Randy Ohel opened for 4,500 from early position and cleared the field all the way around to Bulent Karsli in the big blind. He decided to defend, but then check-folded to a bet of 6,500 on the {5-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} flop.

It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to tell you that both players are currently sitting on stacks of approximately 50,000.
