Some new faces have popped up in the Gold Section of the Brasilia Room. Bryan Micon started the day in the Pavilion but now resides in the Gold Section at Table 1.
The French are in Las Vegas en force and we have just spotted Lucien Cohen sitting at Table 3 with only 975 chips in front of him. Cohen won $1,197,719 when he trumped a field of 891 players to win the European Poker Tour (EPT) event in Deauville in 2011. During that run he used a big plastic black rat as his mascot - no sign of the rat today!
So Cohen is one Frenchman taking his seat in the Gold Section and Remy Biechel is one player who has taken an early bow. Biechel inconspicuous by his absence over at Table 18.
Another great player to just take his seat in the Gold Section is Ruben Visser. Visser had his best year yet when in 2011 he earned $428,373 to take his total earnings in live tournaments over the $1 million mark. That excellent run of form included a forty-fourth place finish in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event for $196,174, his only WSOP cash to date. Visser begins life at Table Thirteen.

It's another last sticker standing contest, with Onnit Labs, and this time it's not just the ladies who can share in the excitement. Here's the deal. Players head to the Onnit booth here at the WSOP, and register to wear an Alpha Brain patch. The player who is the last person standing, out of all the registered players wins $1,000.
You can find out more about it here at PokerNews. And to gain an edge over your opponents with additional focus, Get Onnit here!
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) attracts poker players from all over the world and here is one from Chile. Nick Yunis is a talented player, still searching for that big score. The man just seems to be able to amass huge stacks in deep fields, but finds it a little bit more difficult keeping hold of them. Here is Yunis in action over at Table Thirty-Nine.
The player on the button raised to 150 and Yunis made the call in the small blind. The flop was and both players checked. The turn was the , Yunis bet 225 and his opponent called. The river card was the and Yunis took some time to ponder his decision before over betting the pot. He made it 1,600 and it sent his opponent into a confused state. He counted out the call and just stared at Yunis. He reached his hand under his cap scratched his head and mucked his cards.
The other addition to the Silver Section is Terrence Chan. In terms of $1k events, Chan is having a barnstorming first 2-levels with a smidgen under 6,300 (but did have 10k!)
tchanpoker Terrence Chan Opened utg with QJ. 6 people (really) flat. Flop KQQ. I get it in vs AK, and hold. 10k already after 1 hour of play. #1kproblems
