Glantz Grabs Three Quarters

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Three players saw a flop of {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, including Matt Glantz. Glantz tossed out a bet, and only one opponent called. The turn was the {4-Hearts}, and Glantz fired again. His opponent called, and the {5-Clubs} completed the board. Glantz bet a third time, and his opponent called.

Glantz turned over {a-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for the nut-low and a pair of eights, while his opponent tabled {a-}{2-}{x-}{x-} for the nut-low.

The East Coast grinder pulled in three quarters of the pot, but is still below the starting stack of 4,500 chips.

Xuan Liu in Event 4.

Xuan Liu has just been spotted in the tournament area, fresh off of her final table run in Event 4: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low 8-or-Better. Liu busted in sixth place last night, earning herself $29,985, while another female, Marsha Waggoner, reached the unofficial final table as well. Waggoner busted in ninth place, and Liu is the third female player to reach an official final table at the 2012 World Series of Poker; Patricia Baker (2nd in Event 1) and Vanessa Selbst (4th in Event 2) have also put together deep runs.

Liu's 2012 started off with a bang when she final tabled the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event, finishing in fouth place ($600,000). Liu also final tabled a side event at EPT San Remo towards the end of 2011, and recorded two cashes at the 2011 WSOP. She will look to continue to build her résumé in Event 8 today.

Deeb Fills Up

Shaun Deeb, who won a mind-blowing four Spring Championship of Online Poker watches last month, took a flop of {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} against two other opponents. The action checked to Deeb, who fired a bet, and his two opponents called.

The turn was the {3-Spades}, and both players checked again. Deeb tossed out another bet, but this time, only one player called.

Th3 {3-Clubs} completed the board, and Deeb's opponent led out for the first time. Deeb promptly raised, and his opponent just called. Deeb rolled over {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for tens full, and his opponent mucked.

His opponent opened up {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for the same six-high straight, but a three-to-seven low.
