We caught up with the action to find action trickled around to reigning champion Nick Jivkov in the small blind. He opened the action with a raise to 4,200. The 2011 WSOP Main Event runner-up, Martin Staszko, three-bet the pot from the big blind which was enough to put Jivkov all in.
Jivkov thought for about forty seconds before finally deciding to release his hand. He's now running short on chips with just 8,500. Staszko, on the other hand, has a stack of about 28,000.
Two-time World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner Jason Mercier was involved on the flop against bracelet winner Mike Carson, winner of the $3,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em in 2000. Mercier and Carson both checked the flop to see the land on the turn. Mercier bet 3,300, and Carson made the call. The river completed the board with the , and Mercier checked. Carson bet 4,700, and Mercier gave it up.
Joseph Liberta opened the action with a raise to an unknown amount from the hijack. Eric Crain cut out a three-bet to 7,000 from the big blind and Liberta called.
The dealer put out a flop that read and Crain checked. Liberta checked it back and the board paired with the on the turn. Crain led for 8,000 and Liberta went into the tank for about thirty seconds before letting go of his cards. Crain took down the pot and now has about 84,000.
We arrived on the flop as we saw a bet in front of Weisner who was seated in the big blind. On the table we saw and her opponent, Yorane Kerignard on the button, had raised. Weisner thought for some time before announcing allin. Kerignard snap called and turned over his . Weisner sighed and tabled and had to improve to not bubble this event. She didn't succeed with the on the turn and on the river.
It turned out Weisner had 41,000 while Kerignard had slightly more with 42,600. Melanie Weisner busted one off the money on 56th place.
And just like that we sneaked into the money. With Melanie Weisner's bust and one more player departing at almost the same time, we are now in the money. The players are now guaranteed $2,795.
Action folded to Jason Mercier in the small blind, and he raised to 2,900. Johannes Strassmann was in the big blind, and he reraised to 7,400. After some thought, Mercier reraised to 15,400. Strassmann thought about his decision, but eventually folded, and Mercier scooped in the pot.
Pim de Goede is playing a 130,000 stack and told us how he just let the bubble burst. De Goede opened with suited under-the-gun and got a three bet from Michael Landier who started out with a 40 big blind stack. De Goede made the call out of position and both players checked on with De Goede his flushdraw. The turn brought out a which completed De Goede's flush. The Dutchman bet out 8,700 and got a call. The river was a and De Goede shoved. His opponent made the call with for rivered top two but that hand could be thrown in the muck as De Goede showed his flush. Just like that all the players snuck into the money.
