Singer Doubles...Twice

Level 23

Hold'Em

Tom Schneider raised pre-flop, and David Singer three-bet from the small blind. Schneider called, and the two players saw the flop fall {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Singer bet and Schneider called. The turn was the {10-Spades}, and this time Singer's bet put him all-in. Schneider called and turned over {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, and he was behind Singer's {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. The {10-Clubs} river was no help to Schneider, and Singer doubled up.

A few hands later, Singer doubled up again. He held pocket kings against Tom Schneider, and his kings were still best on the end. Singer now sits with 214,000.

Schneider Pulling Away

Level 23

Hold'em

In the race for all the chips, Tom Schneider is taking a sizable lead.

He opened from under the gun in a recent hand and got calls from David Singer (button), Rep Porter (small blind) and Owais Ahmed (big blind).

The flop came {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, and the blinds checked to Schneider, who kept the lead. Singer and Porter called. Schneider kept betting on the {3-Clubs} turn, and both opponents again called. After a {7-Clubs} river, Schneider bet a final time and saw both players fold.

David Bach Eliminated in 12th Place ($12,998)

David Bach
David Bach

Stud Eight or Better

Before the break, David Bach's stack had been dwindling of late, and he was now all-in on third street against three players, Rep Porter, Tom Schneider, and George Rechnitzer.

On fifth street, Schneider bet out, Rechnitzer called, and Porter raised. Both other players called, then all checked sixth street. Schneider bet again on the river, prompting a fold from Rechnitzer and a call from Porter. The players revealed their hands:

Schneider: {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}/{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Porter: {5-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}/{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Bach: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}/{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

Schneider won the high with his tens-full, Porter won the low with his seventy-five, and Bach was the odd man out. He has been eliminated in 12th place, earning $12,998.

After the hand, both Schneider and Porter sit with 705,000 in chips.

"Now That's a Bad Beat"

Hold'em

Eddie Blumenthal raised from middle position, and Dan Heimiller called from the big blind.

Heimiller the check-raised on the {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop. Blumenthal made the call. The turn paired the board with the {k-Spades}, and Heimiller bet again. Blumenthal again called. The river brought the {a-}, double-pairing the board. Heimiller checked, and Blumenthal bet.

"Now that's a bad beat," Heimiller said. He thought briefly before turning over {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and then mucking.

Michael Cooper Eliminated in 13th Place ($10,345)

Michael Cooper - 14th Place.
Michael Cooper - 14th Place.

Stud

Michael Cooper completed with a {q-Spades}, and Owais Ahmed and Tom Schneider came along. Cooper kept the lead on fourth, and again both players called. Fifth brought a pair on board for Ahmed, and he fired out. Schneider folded, and Cooper raised all in.

Ahmed: {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}/{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Cooper: {q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}/{q-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Cooper had two pair on fourth, but he had an awful lot of cards to fade since Ahmed had four to a flush and a pair. Also, Ahmed held two of the cards that would fill Cooper up. Sixth street brought a {6-Hearts} for Ahmed, completing his heart flush. Cooper got out of his seat. He never even got a chance to fill up, as Ahmed turned over a {7-Hearts} on seventh, making him a straight flush.

Trouble With the Deck?

Players at one of the remaining tables have requested a new deck after multiple cards have had to be replaced due to markings. Some players have voiced concerns that the table's automatic shuffling machine is damaging the cards and creating the marks.

James Mackey

Stud

James Mackey got the last of his chips in the middle with wired queens, but unfortunately for him, he was up against Scott Bohlman's wired Aces. When the boards were out, Mackey was unable to catch Bohlman's higher wired pair, and he has been eliminated from the tournament. He receives $10,345 for his 14th place finish.
