Ankush Mandavia

Ankush Mandavia lost his first bullet to Mark Radoja early on in their match, and after getting his last 160,000 into the middle with {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} against Radoja's {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}, the young EPT grinder was on the brink of elimination.

Flop: {k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

A set on the flop propelled Mandavia into the lead, and the {6-Spades} and {5-Spades} on the turn and river kept him there, effectively reversing the chip positions in this Round of 32 matchup.

Ladouceur Makes Trickett Dip Into Lammers

Level 2 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

The finished board read {K-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and we arrived at the table to see Sam Trickett all in for his last 43,000. Marc-Andre Ladouceur was pondering a call and eventually decided to do so.

"Good call," said Trickett, rolling over {A-Hearts}{6-Spades} for ace-high.

Ladouceur rolled over {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for top pair and was able to scoop the pot, forcing Trickett to cash in both of his remaining add-ons.

Galfond Takes Lead Over Parker

Level 2 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Phil Galfond limped in on the button, Brock Parker raised to 7,400, and after staring at Parker for 20 seconds, he called.

The flop fell {9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, Parker led out for 6,500, and Galfond tank-called.

The turn was the {7-Spades}, Parker slid out another 16,000, and again Galfond called.

Parker emptied the chamber on the river ({7-Hearts}), firing out 37,000, and Galfond moved all in for roughly 20,000 more. Parker called, then began to open his hand (we saw the {q-Hearts}), but quickly mucked when Galfond showed {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for queens and nines.

Parker cashed in one of his lammers, while Galfond has 320,000 in chips in front of him.

Hellmuth Haranguing All Who Will Hear Him

With a swarm of Brazilian media members assembled to watch their countryman Thiago Nishijima play his Round of 32 matchup, Phil Hellmuth has grown quite agitated by repeated intrusions into his personal bubble.

After asking the floor to direct the press to stand behind Nishijima, rather than hovering over his own shoulder, Hellmuth recently made his opinion clear in the only way he knows how.

"This is ridiculous!" he thundered to a tournament director, "We're playing a heads-up match here. Nothing against Brazil, but start taking press passes away and I bet they'll listen."

After "Red Bull" Robbie Thompson assembled a phalanx of chairs to protect him from the press, Hellmuth has returned his focus to the task at hand, taking a small pot recently after showing down the winner.

An Eight-Bet Shove and a Call

Randy Lew

When we reached the table, there was a four-bet of 30,000 sitting in front of Randy "nanonoko" Lew. Fabrizio Gonzalez proceeded to five-bet, making it 52,000, Lew tanked before six-betting to 80,000, and Gonzalez quickly seven-bet to 111,000.

Lew tanked for 30 seconds or so, then put in the eight bet, moving all in for 230,000. Gonzalez quickly called.

Lew: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Gonzalez: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The {3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop gave Gonzalez a freeroll, and the {7-Diamonds} on the turn kept his flush odds alive, but the {5-Clubs} bricked on the river, and the two chopped the pot.

All of the chips are on the table in this match.

Mizrachi's Bluff Sniffed Out by Sulsky

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Ben Sulsky
Ben Sulsky

Michael Mizrachi just tried to run a bluff on Ben Sulsky, representing either a full house of a high flush on the {3-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Spades} board.

After firing a bet of 26,000 at Sulsky, Mizrachi watched the young online pro, who is better known as "sauce123" on the virtual felt, looked him up with {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

Mizrachi could only offer a "nice call" in response, telling Sulsky he had only queen-high.

Venovski Bests Smith; First to Advance to Round of 16

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

We caught the aftermath of a hand where the board read {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Alexander Venovski was all in for his tournament life. He had {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a full house and was crushing Smith's {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}.

The {10-Hearts} came on the river and gave Venovski quads to seal the deal and allow him to double up. This hand knocked Smith down to just 41,000.

Smith got it all in the next hand with {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and was called by Venovski's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. A run out that read {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts} ensured that Venovski would be the first player for move on to the round of 16.
