Sulsky Spikes Quads to Double Through Mizrachi

Level 5 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Ben Sulsky
Ben Sulsky

Michael Mizrachi just shipped 80,000 chips to Ben Sulsky, after the latter made quads on the river.

Holding {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}, Sulsky's hand connected perfectly with the final board of {6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, and he has regained his footing somewhat after falling into a deep heads-up hole.

Ali Eslami Doubles Through Don Nguyen

Level 6 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Riding a short stack of just 59,000, Ali Eslami just doubled up when his {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} held up over Nguyen's {Q-}{6-}. In a dominant chip position, Nguyen went for the knockout blow holding a substandard hand, but he failed to connect on the {A-}{J-}{10-} flop, and he will have more work to do if he hopes to finish off Eslami.

Galfond Advances; Parker Falls Short

Level 6 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

We arrived at the table to witness the final hand of the match between Phil Galfond and Brock Parker. Parker had {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and was all in before the flop for his last roughly 70,000 in chips. Galfond held the {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Galfond's ace-high was able to hold as the best hand, securing him a spot in the Sweet Sixteen.

Justin Bonomo Bounces Jason Mercier

Level 6 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Justin Bonomo Has Advanced to the Round of 16
Justin Bonomo Has Advanced to the Round of 16

With his stack sitting at less than 20 big blinds, Jason Mercier watched Justin Bonomo set him all-in before the flop. Mercier squeezed his cards one by one, and after finding the {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs} a pained expression came over his face, but he decided to make the call and hope to hit.

Mercier would need to catch up against Bonomo's {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, but a {A-}{10-}{6-} flop put him in a deep hole. When a {J-} came on the turn, Mercier gained a lifeline in the form of four outs to a straight, but no queens could be found on the river.

Bonomo will return to play his Round of 16 match against Warwick Mirzikinian.
