Minieri Doubles Through Kelly

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Dario Minieri raised under the gun, and Steven Kelly defended his big blind.

Kelly checked a {j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop, and Minieri came out with 20,000. Kelly popped it to 44,000. Minieri put 24,000 in his hand and reached out as if to call, but announced "raise" just as he dropped the chips. He moved 50,000 more into the middle. Kelly thought for a minute, rechecked his cards, then announced "pot." Minieri called off.

"You have a set?" Minieri asked. Kelly shook his head. "I have an overpair, it's good?"

Minieri tabled {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}, and his overpair was indeed good against Kelly's {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. Bricks fell on the turn and river, and Minieri dragged a large pot.

Bartello Makes a Flush to Survive

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

We found Mark Herm and Vincent Bartello with their cards face up and Bartello all in on a board of {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

Bartello: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Herm: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}

Herm was ahead with a pair of aces, but that lead quickly evaporated on the {5-Diamonds} turn. A meaningless {q-Hearts} fell on the river, and Bartello secured a double up.

There's Always a Sweat

Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

Davidi Kitai opened to 16,000 out of the cutoff, Jesse Martin three-bet on the button, and the action folded back to Kitai, who moved all in for 150,000. Martin called.

Kitai: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Martin: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Kitai had Martin crushed, and flopped quads when the dealer fanned {6-Spades}{k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Martin wasn't drawing dead though, and when the {j-Diamonds} turned, giving him one out to make a royal flush, Mark Herm gasped.

The river was paint, however, and the {j-Spades} secured Kitai's double. He now sits with over 300,000 chips, while Martin slipped to 295,000.

Mark Herm - 13th Place
Mark Herm - 13th Place

A short-stacked Mark Herm limped in on the button, leaving 25,000 or so behind, and Chris Johnson checked in the big blind. The flop came {8-Spades}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, Johnson checked, and Herm fired out a min-bet. Johnson moved all in, and Herm called.

Herm: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Johnson: {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Johnson flopped a pair and multiple draws, and made two pair when the {6-Diamonds} turned. The {7-Clubs} bricked on the river, and Herm was eliminated in 13th place, earning

Dario Minieri raised to 16,000 from under the gun, Dan Kelly re-raised the pot on his direct left, making it 46,000 to go, and Cary Katz re-potted out of the big blind. Minieri folded, and Kelly called all-in for less.

Kelly: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Katz: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Katz held as the board came {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Hearts}, and Kelly was eliminated in 12th place.

Steven Kelly - 11th Place.
Steven Kelly - 11th Place.

Steven Kelly raised to pot from middle position, and everyone folded to Eugene Katchalov in the big blind. He seemed to ponder for awhile before gently placing a stack of pink T5,000 chips in the center. Kelly called off the other half of his chips.

Katchalov: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Kelly: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

A flop of {3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} meant Kelly had a lot of cards to dodge. He was unable to do so on the turn, when the {j-Hearts} fell. He got out of his seat in anticipation of elimination, and sure enough, the river was a {7-Spades}.

Players have redrawn to an unofficial final table of 10.

Kitai Makes Massive Call to Vault to Chiplead

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Davidi Kitai made a big call.
Davidi Kitai made a big call.

Davidi Kitai opened to 22,000 from middle position, and Dario Minieri three-bet to 49,000 from his immediate left. Kitai made the call after everyone else folded.

Kitai checked the {7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop, and Minieri bet 50,000. Kitai called. The turn came {j-Hearts}, and both players checked. An {8-Spades} arrived on the river, and Kitai checked once more. Minieri fired 160,000.

Kitai went deep into the tank, alternately staring at the board and then at MInieri, who never wavered his gaze from Kitai. After about three minutes, Minieri patted the table and said "time." About 10 seconds later, Kitai slid out a tower of pink chips to call.

"You win," Minieri said. "Ten-high."

Kitai turned over {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and dragged the massive pot with third pair.
