Dalby's Comeback Falls Short

Level 15

Limit Hold'em

We just watched a series of four limit-hold'em hands that saw Great Britain's Eric Dalby nearly make an amazing comeback.

Hand #1: When we arrived Dalby was down to just two T100 chips and committed them dark from the hijack. Eric Wasserson ended up raising from the button and the blinds folded.

Dalby: {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Wasserson: {j-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out clean and Dalby doubled to 600.

Hand #2: Once again Dalby put it in without looking at his hand and action folded to Marcel Luske, who called by default as he was the big blind.

Luske: {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Dalby: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Dalby made a flush to get up to 1,800.

Hand #3: Dalby moved in dark from under the gun and Dan Kelly raised to 5,000 from the hijack. The rest of the field folded and Dalby was in trouble.

Dalby: {j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Kelly: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Fortunately for Dalby the board ran out {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, and in the course of three hands he went from 200 up to 6,700.

Hand #4: Dalby was in the big blind an three-bet all in dark after Daniel Makowsky raised from the small blind. Makowsky called.

Dalby: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Makowsky: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Dalby woke up with another big hand, but this time he was dominated. Makowsky's pair held as the board ran out {j-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and the elder statesman wished the table luck before departing.
