Iacofano Finished

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Scott Clements limped in from early position, Grzegorz Derkowski called behind him, as did Kevin Iacofano, Danny Hannawa, Elie Payan, Andrey Pateychuk, and the player in the big blind.

The flop fell {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}, and the action checked to Iacofano, who fired out 21,000. Payan raised to 54,000, the action folded back to Iacofano, and he went all in. Payan called.

Iacofano: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Payan: {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The turn and river came {10-Hearts}, {k-Clubs} respectively, and Iacofano was eliminated.

Clements Collecting

Scott Clements
Scott Clements

Scott Clements has been steadily accumulating throughout the day and presently sits with more than 300,000 as we approach the dinner break.

Just now we saw Clements collecting another pot from Jason Rosenberg who is sitting on Clements's left.

The board showed {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Clements was showing {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for a six-high straight. Rosenberg spent a few seconds muttering aloud, showing two of his cards — {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} (making a five-high straight) — and noting how he was glad he resisted betting the turn.

Pickering Eliminated

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Jamie Pickering — who memorably finished second to Vanessa Selbst in the $1,500 PLO event back in a 2008 — has been eliminated just shy of the final 50 here today.

Pickering's final hand began with a raise from the Aussie to 7,400, a reraise from Douglas Corning to 25,800 from a seat over, then a call by Pickering. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Pickering pushed his last chips all in, and Corning called.

Pickering: {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Corning: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

Pickering had the mechagodzilla wrap draw to make a straight to improve against Corning's aces, but alas for Pickering the turn was the {3-Clubs} and river the {4-Diamonds} and he was eliminated.
