22 Players, One Bracelet: Day 3 Awaits
Just 22 players remain from exactly 400 who entered Event #41: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (Six-Handed), with Steve "gboro780" Gross leading all as the only player currently with more than half a million in his stack.
Gross is looking to add a best ever live score to his considerable achievements online and improve on a previous final table appearance in 2008 at a $1,000 no-limit hold'em rebuy event where he took ninth.
Gross will have some heady competition to contend with today, however, as Jesse Rockowitz, Salman Behbehani, and Alex Manzano are all within 10 big blinds of the leader, with Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Event #2: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em (Eight-Handed) winner Trevor Pope, and Sorel Mizzi all still in the hunt as well.
Speaking of Mizzi, the continued success of Canadian players at this year's WSOP forces us to look for remaining players who fly the Maple Leaf. Mizzi is joined by Joseph Leung and Lasell King as the three remaining Canada-based players in this one, all hoping to repeat last night's triumphs by Justin Oliver and Dan Idema who won Canada's eighth and ninth bracelets of the summer.
