Medic Doubles

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Nenad Medic got it all in preflop but was a bit behind with {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} against his opponent's {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. He hit his ace on the flop of {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, and the turn and river of {j-Hearts}{2-Spades} didn't harm him any. He secured the double-up and is still alive in this event.

Ross Chips Up

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Ray Ross min-raised to 4,000 from early position and Perry Friedman and Jason Pritchard both called. The flop came out {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Pritchard and Ross both checked before Friedman bet 6,500. Pritchard called and Ross put out a big raise to 23,500, leaving himself not much behind. Friedman let go of his hand, which he later admitted was a diamond flush draw, "but not the nut draw." Pritchard went into the tank, and after a minute and a half asked "how much is the raise?" He eventually folded his hand and Ross scooped in a decent pot with his check-raise.

Shane Busts Two

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

"Payout!" the dealer yelled. "Two payouts," he corrected.

There were three sets of pocket cards face up on the table. Brandon Shane held the best two: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. With the board reading {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, the other two players were eliminated holding {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} and {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Shane barely finished stacking his chips before racks were brought to the table to break them down as this tournament is shrinking quickly.
