Julio Marines Heads Up the Big Stacks

Julio Marines
Julio Marines

Julio Marines raised from middle position and both blinds looked him up by calling. The flop came {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and it was checked to Marines who bet 1,000. The player in the small blind called and the player in the big blind folded.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Marines' opponent checked and Marines bet 3,800. That was enough to induce a fold and send the pot to Marines, who after that hand garnered 90,000 in chips. That number is good enough for the chip lead at this point. Some of the other big stacks in the room include:

Soulier Flops Big, Rivers Bigger

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante
Fabrice Soulier
Fabrice Soulier

We get to the table and Fabrice Soulier is in a hand with another player and the flop is {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. All of the chips are in the middle and Soulier's opponent had {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{X-Diamonds} but Soulier has flopped a monster with his {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a flopped straight. The turn is the {5-Spades} keeping Soulier in the lead. The {8-Spades} on the river gave Soulier a full house, fives full of eights, and he scooped the pot and moved to approximately 40,000 in chips.
