Luneau Crippled, Then Doubles

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

After the second draw, Alexandre Luneau checked over to Jason Mercier and he fired out a bet. Luneau called and drew two cards on the final draw. Mercier took one and led out one last time when action checked to him. Luneau called and Mercier tabled a winning {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-}. Luneau was reduced down to just 46,000 in chips.

Two hands later, Luneau raised from the cutoff and Mercier made it three bets from the button. Action came back to Luneau and he four-bet all in for his last 41,000. Mercier called.

Luneau took one on the first draw and Mercier took two. On the second, Luneau stood pat and Mercier picked up one new card. The third draw saw Luneau stand pat and Mercier draw one last card. Luneau fanned {9-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

Mercier tabled {5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and was drawing live to bust Luneau. He squeezed out his last card.

"Four spot diamond," said Mercier. A dejected look then washed over his face as he flung the {10-Diamonds} on the felt. Luneau's ninety-seven awarded him the double up and he now sits around 100,000.

Eli Elezra
Eli Elezra

The action folded to Jason Mercier in the small blind and he raised to 24,000. Eli Elezra three-bet before Mercier four-bet to 48,000. Elezra capped it at 60,000 and Mercier called.

Both players stood pat on each draw with Mercier check-calling a bet on each street from Elezra.

Elezra tabled his {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for a number one and Mercier shook his head a few times before folding and slipping to 90,000 as Elezra climbed to roughly 300,000 in chips.

Galfond on the Comeback

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Sergey Rybachenko opened with a raise and Tuan Le made it three bets to go from the small blind. Phil Galfond flatted from the big and Rybachenko came back over the top with a four-bet. Both of his opponents called.

At the first draw, Le drew one, Galfond two, and Rybachenko one. All three players checked and repeated the same amounts on the second draw. The trio checked it down once more.

Le once again drew one card on the final draw, Galfond stood pat, and Rybachenko took one. Le checked over to Galfond and he fired out one bet. Rybachenko folded and Le quickly kicked it in as well. The online legend now has about 355,000 in chips.

Elezra Over Mercier

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Jason Mercier popped it up from the button and Eli Elezra called from the small blind. Both players took two new cards and checked the next betting round. On the second draw, they each took two new cards again. Once more they both checked.

Elezra stood pat on the final draw and Mercier grabbed two new cards for a third time. Elezra bet, Mercier folded, and Elezra was pushed the pot. Last year's triple draw champion now has about 320,000 while Mercier has dropped to just 60,000.

Mercier Survives

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Alexandre Luneau raised to 24,000 only to have Jason Mercier make it 36,000. Justin Bonomo made the call, as did Luneau before each player drew two and checked it around.

Luneau and Bonomo again drew two while Mercier took just one as Luneau bet out 24,000 and Mercier committed his final 10,000 before Bonomo folded.

Mercier stood pat and tabled his {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-} as Luneau was drawing with his {8-}{7-}{5-}{2-}. Fortunately for Mercier, Luneau only found the {6-} to give Mercier the pot to send him to 130,000 in chips.

Bonomo tabled his {J-}{10-}{6-}{3-}{2-} as Luneau tabled his {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} to double through.

As the dealer was pushing the pot, Eli Elezra peeked at what would have been the next two cards dealt to Bonomo if he broke his jack to draw to a six.

Elezra tabled the {8-}{7-} which would have meant Bonomo would have eliminated Luneau in 9th place.

Danzer Doubles, Mercier Crippled

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

George Danzer raised from the cutoff and Jason Mercier called from the big blind. Mercier drew two cards while Danzer opted for just one. Mercier checked, Danzer led out, and Mercier came over the top with a check-raise. Danzer called.

Mercier stood pat on the second draw and Danzer took one. Mercier bet and Danzer tossed out a call.

"Still pat?" asked Danzer. "Alright, let's roll the dice."

Mercier stood pat once again and Danzer picked up one new card. Mercier checked and Danzer led out with an all in bet. Mercier let out a sigh.

"Fine," said Mecier, flinging out a call.

"Number one!" yelled Danzer, fanning {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Danzer scooped the double and Mercier was left with just 15,000 in chips.

Jason Mercier Eliminated in 9th Place ($30,794), Alexandre Luneau Eliminated in 8th Place ($38,691)

Alexandre Luneau - 8th Place
Alexandre Luneau - 8th Place

Alexandre Luneau raised from under the gun and Jason Mercier moved all in for his last 28,000 from the cutoff. It folded around to Justin Bonomo in the big blind and he called as well. Going to the first draw, Bonomo drew one card, Luneau one, and Mercier two.

Bonomo checked and Luneau led out with a bet. Bonomo stuck around. On draw number two, Bonomo picked up two, Luneau drew one, and Mercier stood pat. Bonomo checked once again and Luneau moved all in for his last 19,000. Bonomo announced a call.

On the final draw, Bonomo stood pat, Luneau drew one, and Mercier went into the tank. After a moment, he tapped the table, signifying that he was standing pat.

"Wheel," said Bonomo, turning over {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for the stone nuts. Mercier flung his cards into the muck, exposing {9-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}. Luneau tabled his {7-}{6-}{4-}{2-} and showed that his final card was the {K-Clubs}. Bonomo scored the double elimination, scooped a massive pot, and prompted a total redraw to the unofficial final table of seven.

Bonomo now has 1.31 million in chips.
