Helppi and Van den Bijgaart in Good Shape

Level 1 : 400/800, 0 ante

Juha Helppi just bet on a {6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{5-Clubs} board when we picked up the action and Joep van den Bijgaart called from his immediate left in the big blind. The river was the {5-Clubs} and Helppi bet again, Van den Bijgaart called.

Helppi showed {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} and Van den Bijgaart mucked.

On the very next hand Van den Bijgaart raised from the small blind and Mark Newhouse called from the big blind. The flop was {4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades} and the Dutchman bet, Newhouse called.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and Newhouse called another bet. On the river the board completed with the {9-Clubs} and this time Newhouse folded to Van den Bijgaart's bet.

Painter Already Out The Door

Level 2 : 400/800, 0 ante
Jameson Painter
Jameson Painter

In a Limit Hold'em tournament it's not very common to lose players in the first couple of levels, but a very unlucky Jameson Painter was just knocked out.

A hand we just watched cost Painter almost all of his chips, and we picked up the action when the board read {2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The player in the small blind bet, Vincent Gironda raised from the big blind and Painter called from the button. The small blind called as well and the turn brought the {4-Hearts}.

The small blind checked to Gironda who bet, Painter raised and the small blind folded. Girond put in a three-bet and Painter called. The river was the {J-Hearts} and Gironda bet again, Painter raised and Gironda three-bet.

Painter made the call and Gironda tabled {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Painter shook his head and flashed {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} before throwing his rivered set into the muck. A few hands later Painter, who was down to 400 chips after this hand, was knocked out.
