Selbst Takes a Hit

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

We picked up the action on the turn with a board reading {j-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Vanessa Selbst checked from the big blind and called when her opponent in the cutoff tossed out a bet. Selbst opted to lead out for 2,400 on the {A-Clubs} river, and her opponent called with the {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for aces and jacks with a 6-4-3-2-A low. It was good enough to scoop and Selbst simply sent her cards to the muck.

McMillan and Rechnitzer Chop Up Klein

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Daniel Klein got his last 3,300 all in preflop and was one of four players to see a flop of {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Ronald McMillan checked from the big blind and Brian Rast did the same from the cutoff. Both players called a bet from George Rechnitzer on the button.

All three active players then checked the {8-Clubs} turn, and then the flop action repeated itself on the {K-Clubs} river. The dealer was a little too quick scooping up the cards, but we do know that Rechnitzer and McMillan ended up chopping the pot. Rast mucked, and Klein did the same before taking his leave from the tournament.

Acker & Klodnicki Stay Alive

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

With a board reading {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}, Timothy Acker bet 2,000 from the big blind and Chino Rheem called. Chris Klodnicki then raised all in for 3,900 total, which prompted Acker to three-bet all in for 5,200. Rheem called to put both players at risk and the cards were turned up.

Acker: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Rheem: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Klodnicki: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The {6-Clubs} completed the board on the river, which meant Acker took down the side pot with a pair of aces and a 6-4-3-2-A low. That same low earned him half the main pot, while Klodnicki got the high half with the {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for two pair.

Cossette Culled

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Sergey Altbregin raised from late position and was met by a three-bet from Anil Gurnaney in the cutoff. Jordan Cossette then four-bet from the big blind, both his opponents called and all three players saw a flop of {q-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

Cossette was first to act and bet his last 400, which both Altbregin and Gurnaney called. Altbregin then checked the {a-Hearts} turn, Gurnaney bet, and Altbregin check-raised. Gurnaney called and both players checked the {K-Diamonds} river.

Gurnaney tabled {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} for aces full of jacks, and Altbregin held the same hand with {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Cossette mucked his cards once he saw what he was up against and quietly exited the tournament area.

Schneider Bests Yeh

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

We picked up the action on the turn with a board reading {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Andrew Yeh bet, Julie Schneider raised, and Yeh got all in for 2,800.

Yeh: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Schneider: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Schneider was well out in front with her set of kings, which meant Yeh needed an ace and an ace only to stay alive. The {6-Hearts} river wasn't what he was looking for, and Yeh's day came to an end in Level 10.

Morgan Sends Zdanowich Home Early

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Constantine Zdanowich began the day with just 900 in chips, and it didn't take him long to get them all in preflop against Jordan Morgan.

Zdanowich: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Morgan: {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The {10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} flop didn't do much for either player, while the {A-Hearts} turn gave them both a pair of aces. The {J-Hearts} river gave Zdanowich two pair, but it also gave Morgan a winning flush. There was no low, so that meant Morgan was awarded the pot and Zdanowich made an early exit here on Day 2.
