Tambouras Flops the Joint to Double Up

Level 28 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Stephen Tambouras moved all in for his last 620,000 from the hijack and Geoffrey Rasmussen announced all in over the top from the cutoff. The button and blinds folded and the two hands were tabled.

Stephen Tambouras: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
Geoffrey Rasmussen: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The flop came {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Tambouras flopped the nut straight to take a stranglehold in the hand. The turn was the {9-Diamonds} which left Rasmussen drawing dead to the {7-Spades} on the river. The two players virtually swapped stacks as Tambouras moved into the seven-figure club.

Alley Doubles Up

Level 28 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

The player on the cutoff opened to 100,000. Derek Alley, in the small blind, three-bet shoved for around 500,000. The original raiser made the call.

Derek Alley: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}

Alley hit a pretty favourable flop of {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. The {5-Spades} turn and {8-Diamonds} river completed the board and Alley got his double up.

Eddlemon Runs Out of Blinds

Level 27 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Jason Eddlemon
Jason Eddlemon

Jason Eddlemon had been nursing a short stack for a little while and couldn't pick up a hand for the longest time. He finally found a spot to get it all in from the hijack but was quickly called by Jayachandra Gangaiah in the small blind.

Jayachandra Gangaiah: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Jason Eddlemon: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The flop of {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs} was not a kind one for Eddlemon and he knew it. "That's not a good flop for me," he muttered. The {7-Spades} on the turn gave Eddlemon some life but the {2-Diamonds} on the river ensured Gangaiah's pocket jacks would hold up.

Johnson Kicks Dagostino to the Rail

Level 27 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Don Johnson raised to 105,000 from early position and the action folded around to Fabrizzo Dagostino in the big blind. Dagostino shoved all in for 840,000 and Johnson instantly tossed in a chip to call.

Don Johnson: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Fabrizzo Dagostino: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Johnson held a dominating lead preflop and the flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} changed nothing. The turn was the {4-Clubs} bringing Dagostino some chop outs, but the {7-Diamonds} on the river bricked off. Johnson held the better kicker and eliminated Dagostino from the tournament.

Ostrowski Sends Berkey to the Tank

Level 27 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The action folded around to James Ostrowski who raised it up on the button. Matt Berkey defended from the big blind and the flop came {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Berkey check-called a bet of 105,000 from Ostrowski and the {4-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Berkey checked again and Ostrowski fired another 250,000 into the middle. Berkey called and the {2-Spades} completed the board. Berkey checked one more time and Ostrowski instantly shipped all in for 575,000. Berkey asked for a count and then went deep into the tank.

After a couple of minutes, Timothy Miles called the clock, leaving Berkey with 30 seconds to act. The time ran out and Berkey flashed the {k-Diamonds} as his cards hit the muck. Ostrowski in return showed {8-Spades}{7-Spades} to fuel the fire at the table.
