Robert Oxenberg Leads the Remaining 125 Players Into Day 2

Day 1 of Event #67: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty drew 833 players. After 10 one-hour levels, 125 players remain as the field reached the money on the final hand of the night after a money bubble that lasted nearly an hour. The remaining field will earn at least $1,421 for a min-cash, while first place is set at $141,161 and a coveted World Series of Poker gold bracelet.

Leading the way into Day 2 is Robert Oxenberg with 210,200, followed closely by Georgios Karavokyris with 207,000. Oxenberg rivered quad eights in a sizable hand against Christina McAlpin and got paid off to help increase his stack above the 200,000 mark. McAlpin still bagged a hefty stack of 132,200. Others who will be returning on Day 2 include Igor Sharaskin (132,600), Jameson Painter (94,000), Aaron Mermelstein (76,200), John Holley (60,900), David Williams, (60,400) Nipun Java (36,100), Jeff Gross (28,600), Robert Mizrachi (23,600) and Benny Glaser (12,600).

Among those who failed to survive the day include Daniel Negreanu, NHL superstar Phil Kessel, Noah Schwartz, Robert Williamson III, Erik Seidel, Frankie O'Dell, Jeff Lisandro, Dominik Nitsche and Scott Bohlman.

Play resumes Saturday, July 7 at 2 p.m. and play is scheduled to last another 10 levels where the field should reach the final table. The PokerNews team will be on hand to provide live updates on the action.
