Whittington Jams the Turn

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Blake Whittington
Blake Whittington

There were about 80,000 chips in the pot and the {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop was out when we got to the table. Stephen Van Zutphen bet 45,000 from the hijack, Blake Whittington called from the button, and a player in early position folded.

The turn brought the {5-Spades} and Van Zutphen bet again, 50,000 this time. Whittington shoved for 206,500, sending his opponent into the tank. After over a minute, he tossed his cards into the muck, and Whittington took the pot to chip up substantially.

Savage Call by Keijzer

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

On the river of a {J-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{3-Clubs} board, Tim Andrew fired 100,000 and Ronald Keijzer was contemplating a decision whether to call for more than a half of his remaining stack.

After over a minute, Keijzer cut out the chips required to call and placed them in. Andrew smiled, announcing king-high and Keijzer quickly turned up {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for the winner, making a correct call with a pair of tens.

Lewis Stacks Higgins

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Jeffrey Higgins and Romain Lewis were engaged in a battle of the blinds with 25,000 chips in the pot and the board reading {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Higgins bet 13,000 from the small and Lewis raised to 33,000. After brief consideration, Higgins called.

The {Q-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Higgins checked. Lewis bet 60,000, Higgins check-raised all-in for about 150,000, and Lewis quickly called to put Higgins at risk.

Jeffrey Higgins: {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Romain Lewis: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

Lewis had a lock on the hand with the nut flush and Higgins, who had turned the second-nut flush, found himself drawing dead. After the {9-Spades} hit the river, Lewis took the pot to extend his chip lead and Higgins made his exit.

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

James Chen raised to 13,000 from under the gun and PLO bracelet winner Ryan Bambrick three-bet to 46,500 from the button. After verifying the bet, Chen called.

Aidinian Forces Out Solomon

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Jarred Solomon and Pallas Aidinian were in for 15,000 each preflop in a battle of blinds. Solomon then checked the {Q-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{A-Hearts} flop, then called a 20,000-bet.

The turn came {2-Diamonds} and Aidinian fired another 50,000 in position. Solomon wasn't willing to pay the second barrel and the table broke after the hand.

While they were stacking their chips in the racks, Solomon asked Aidinian if she had it.

"Two pair," she replied.

Niv Scoops with a Flush

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Ran Niv made it 17,500 under the gun, earning a call from Evangelos Kokkalis on the button. Daniel Negreanu came along from the big blind and they all checked the {K-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop.

The {10-Spades} turn paired the board and Niv fired 18,000. Only Kokkalis matched the price and they continued heads-up to the {8-Spades} river which was checked by both.

Niv exposed {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for turned trips and rivered ace-high flush and Kokkalis released his hand face down.

Aidinian Doubles Through Solomon

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Pallas Aidinian and Jarred Solomon each put in 35,000 chips preflop.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Aidinian shoved for her last 45,500. Solomon quickly called to put her at risk and the two players tabled their hands.

Pallas Aidinian: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Jarred Solomon: {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Solomon had the advantage and Aidinian needed to improve in order to survive. The {9-Clubs} on the turn and {6-Clubs} on the river gave her the winning hand with a ten-high straight and she took the pot to double up.
