Nguyen Eliminated by Qartomy

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Scotty Nguyen in a previous event
Scotty Nguyen in a previous event

Scotty Nguyen didn't have many chips left in front of him, but he lost his final ones to Ray Qartomy who entered about an hour ago.

The flop read {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and all the chips went in. Qartomy opened up {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Nguyen still needed to hit with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}.

The board ran out with the {9-Diamonds} turn and the {J-Spades} river and that means Nguyen was eliminated from the tournament.

Andre Akkari was under the gun and up against Jennifer Tilly in the next seat with the flop down {3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}. After Akkari checked, Tilly bet 6,000, and the former called. On the {10-Diamonds} turn, Akkari check-called again, this time for 10,000.

After the river card came down the {3-Spades}, both players checked to a showdown. Tilly tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} after Akkari had shown {a-}{k-}, and Tilly took the pot with two pair.

Petrangelo Gets Caught

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

The under-the-gun player raised to 1,400 and Nick Petrangelo called from the button, as did Alexandru Papazian from the big blind.

The flop came down {J-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and it checked to Petrangelo. He decided to go for a bet of 1,600 and, after Papazian had folded, the under-the-gun player called.

The turn was the {8-Hearts} and Petrangelo's opponent check-called the 2,700 bet.

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and they checked to Petrangelo again. He decided to go for an all-in shove for effectively 9,100 and he was instantly called. Petrangelo tried to muck his hand but it was an all-in situation and the dealer opened up his {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. His opponent showed {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}.

Petrangelo said with a smile, "Looks like that would've worked," as his opponent was stacking his chips.

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Liv Boeree in a previous event
Liv Boeree in a previous event

Liv Boeree just entered the tournament and she's off to a good start.

It folded around to Sergio Aido in the small blind and he limped. Big blind Boeree raised to 2,100 and Aido called the raise.

The flop came down {3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. Aido checked to Boeree and she bet 1,600. Aido called again.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and Aido check-called again when Boeree bet. This time the bet was 4,800 and both players went to the river.

The dealer dealt the {6-Clubs} river card to complete the board and Aido checked to Boeree for a final time. Boeree bet 16,200 and Aido went in the tank. He thought about it for a couple of minutes before eventually letting go of his hand.

The turn was the {8-Clubs} and Gathy checked again to Margereson. This time Margereson checked behind.
