Marshall Picks Up Where He Left Off

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

According to Cary Marshall, shortly after the resumption of play he sent two players to the rail. First he picked up {9-}{9-} against an opponent's {j-}{8-} suited and made quads.

He then won a flip with {a-}{k-} against {8-}{8-} when he flopped an ace and his opponent failed to improve.

The seats of Bryant Lipscomb and Scott Roberts are now empty and Marshall is up to over three million.

Godinez Doubles Through Gray

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Perry Gray opened to 125,000 and called a shove from Marcia Godinez for only slightly more than that.

"We need a seven," said Godinez showing {k-Spades}{7-Clubs} and was against the {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} of Gray.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} meaning any six would give Godinez a straight. The turn was a {7-Hearts} giving her the lead and although she didn't like the {k-Hearts} river at first, she soon realized that she had rivered two pair and doubled up.

Allyn Shulman

A cry of anguish was heard around the Amazon room from Allyn Shulman.

According to her tablemates, Cary Marshall had opened to 125,000 and Shulman three-bet from the button to 350,000.

Marshall had called and then check-called a jam from Shulman for approximately 1,500,000 on a king-high flop.

Shulman held pocket aces, but Marshall had flopped top set with {k-}{k-} and there was no help for Shulman who was eliminated.
