Konnikova Loses One; Gets It Back Next Hand

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Maria Konnikova
Maria Konnikova

Pot-Limit Omaha

On a board of {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} there was roughly 1,500 in the middle, Maria Konnikova bet out 800, the two middle players folded and Sylvain Loosli bet called.

The river was the {q-Hearts} and Konnikova check-called a bet of 1,700. Loosli tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for the ace-high flush and that was good enough to take down the pot.

The very next hand the action folded around to the hijack who made it 800 to go, Konnikova called on the button and the big blind came along as well.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}, the player in the big blind bet out 1,000, the preflop raiser folded and Konnikova raised to 3,000 which the bettor called.

The turn got checked by both players on the {a-Diamonds} and when the {q-Clubs} fell on the river Konnikova's opponent fired out a bet of 2,500 and she wasted no time moving all-in for 5,700 and the opponent mucked fast.
