The Bubble Has Burst

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Several players busted out in quick succession to let the bubble burst and Alex "GMcrafter" Manzano has become the bubble boy.

Just prior to that, Marc "shadykushh" Macdonnell saw his hopes of another WSOP cash vanish when {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades} were cracked by the {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} of Mohammed "MarraKechy" El Mazouni on a board of {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Spades}.

More former big stacks busted such as Chul Woo "SSAK3" Jung and Memories "nned2win" Nguyen but they at least secured the min cash.

A Double and More for Negreanu

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu Doubles
Daniel Negreanu Doubles

Daniel Negreanu three-bet to 51,000 and then jammed the {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Spades} flop for the last 39,600, which Yonathan "ninoboys80" Journo called.

Daniel Negreanu: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Yonathan "ninoboys80" Journo: {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The {7-Hearts} turn added further outs and Negreanu got there with the {q-Clubs} river.

In the next hand, Negreanu won a slightly bigger pot against Alex "GMcrafter" Manzano who check-called 18,000 on the {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{a-Spades} turn and led the {4-Clubs} river for 66,000. Negreanu called with {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a flush and Manzano only had {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for top pair.

The next big pot followed right after as Hun Wei Lee repotted to 207,000 against Journo and jammed the {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop for 99,991 to force a fold from Journo.

"PgTilt" Above a Million

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
PgTilt Wins Huge Pot
PgTilt Wins Huge Pot

From under the gun, "PgTilt" raised to 12,500 and "SCK1996" called to then see Viatcheslav "Preflopper" Ortynskiy in the cutoff raise the pot for 57,500. "PgTilt" and "SCK1996" both called. On the {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, the action checked to Ortynskiy and he continued for another 59,400 to pick up two calls.

The {2-Hearts} followed on the turn and "PgTilt" bet 78,206. "SCK1996" moved all in to force out Ortynskiy and "PgTilt" called instantly.

"PgTilt": {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
"SCK1996": {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

There was no miracle one outer on the {6-Diamonds} river and "SCK1996" was left with one blind, which they lost the next hand to Jan Suchanek.

Goblue eliminated by MinaNina
Goblue eliminated by MinaNina

Hen "GeorgeTheVet" Rosilio has disappeared and Thai Loc "MinaNina" Le took his seat to then beat Craig "Goblue" Varnell in back-to-back hands, ending the hopes of a second bracelet win for Varnell.

Le rivered a queen-high flush and then opened to 10,000 right after. Varnell three-bet to 34,000 with 24,447 and called all-in after the push of Le.

Craig "Goblue" Varnell: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Thai Loc "MinaNina" Le: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

On a board of {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, Le hit a miracle straight.

Death By Quads for Chen; Death by Flush for Tsang

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 0 ante
Pete Chen Busts to Quads
Pete Chen Busts to Quads

In three-way action to the {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop, Shane "Danish01" Daniels as the initial raiser from middle position bet 7,750 and faced Pete Chen in the cutoff while Markus "PhilKessel" Cara sent his cards into the muck. Chen raised to 22,100 and then called all-in after a raise by Daniels.

Shane "Danish01" Daniels: {10-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}
Pete Chen: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

The {9-Diamonds} turn left Chen with one out and the {8-Hearts} river brought no miracle.

At almost the same time, Anson "Tara@Oz" Tsang also bowed out. On his third bullet, he three-bet the pot and continued for the pot on the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop and "AndessOg" check-called to then bet the {q-Clubs} turn. Tsang called all-in for the following showdown.

Anson "Tara@Oz" Tsang: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
"AndessOg": {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}

The {4-Hearts} river was a blank as Tsang hit the rail.

Jung Above Half a Million After Busting Tsang

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 0 ante
Tara@Oz eliminated by SSAK3
Tara@Oz eliminated by SSAK3

Paul Siddle raised the pot to 4,200 on the button and was called by chip leader Chul Woo "SSAK3" Jung in the small blind and Anson "Tara@Oz" Tsang in the big blind.

The trio checked through the {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop and Tsang then got his stack in after the {j-Hearts} turn against Jung for a pot of more than three times the starting stack.

Anson "Tara@Oz" Tsang: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Chul Woo "SSAK3" Jung: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}

Tsang needed to pair his queen or hit a heart that didn't pair the board. Instead, a blank {2-Spades} followed on the river to send Jung above half a million.

  • 3. Pick Your Own WSOP Event
    When the WSOP Online schedule on GGPoker was announced, the poker community was intrigued to see a new type of bracelet event announced! Three 'People's Choice' events were announced, with the formats and buy-ins yet to be announced.
  • 4. Best Stack Forward
    Any player that makes it to the end of a Day 1 with a stack is allowed to take part in additional Day 1s if they want to, providing they have not exceeded the maximum number of re-entries.

Jung In the Lead

Level 4 : 250/500, 0 ante
Straight Flush for SSAK3
Straight Flush for SSAK3

Chul Woo "SSAK3" Jung was among the first casualties of the day and has since re-entered to go on a rampage.

Latest casualty of Jung's recent run was "SolidMAn84" who got it in with the {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} on the {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} turn. Jung tabled {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for a straight flush and the {j-Diamonds} river was a formality.
