Draucker Clubs "omahabrian" for the Double

Level 5 : 60/120, 0 ante

"Poker_guru" raised to 360 from middle position and Michael "someoneinlv" Odeh three-bet to 810 next to act. "omahabrian" then four-bet jammed for 15,840 from the button and Kyle "Kdruck" Draucker called off for 1,640 total from the big blind. The other two players folded and the hands were turned up.

Kyle "Kdruck" Draucker: {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}
"omahabrian": {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

"omahabrian" was ahead but the {2-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop gave Draucker a flush draw, which he hit on the {8-Clubs} turn. However, that same card gave "omahabrian" a set, meaning a paired board on the river would flip it back.

Fortunately for Draucker, it was the safe {9-Diamonds} and he shipped the double.

Helstern Gets Breathing Room

Level 6 : 80/160, 0 ante

Waylon "Hunt_Dizzle" Frey opened for 320 from early position and then called Jorden "mookmook" Helstern's 3,125 three-bet jam from the cutoff.

Waylon "Hunt_Dizzle" Frey: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Jorden "mookmook" Helstern: {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

Helstern was behind and nothing changed after the {2-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop.

Luckily for Helstern, he held the cards and connected with the {6-Hearts} turn.

The {2-Hearts} completed the board on the river and secured Helstren's double-up.

WSOP Legend: Doyle Brunson's Final Bracelet, 15 Years Later

Level 7 : 100/200, 25 ante
Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson

At the beginning of the 2005 WSOP, Doyle Brunson remained the co-king of the all-time bracelet count, tied along with Johnny Chan at nine. However, as the series drew toward its close in late June, that was no longer the case — Chan had overtaken him by winning No. 10 to stand atop the mountain alone.

Brunson was already phasing out his tournament play, having cashed precisely zero times that summer and just three times in the previous two combined, although one had resulted in a bracelet victory.

When it came time for Event #31: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, Brunson dusted off his tournament chops and made a run.

Hempel Looking for Second Bracelet

Level 7 : 100/200, 25 ante

Scott "BudLightLime" Hempel, who won Event #18: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed Turbo DeepStack last night for $181,060, opened under the gun for 400 and Phillip "ptdodge250" Hayes three-bet to 1,280 from middle position.

Action folded back around to Hempel who jammed for 41,231 and Hayes called off his 5,827 stack.

Phillip "ptdodge250" Hayes: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Scott "BudLightLime" Hempel: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Hempel held the better made hand and the {3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} runout didn't change a thing as Hayes re-entered the tournament.
