Vieira Calls it with Ace-High
Vieira Calls it with Ace-High

Joao Vieira raised the cutoff to 24,000 and Victor "Arepo" Krivoshein called. The flop came {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Krivoshein check-raised from 12,000 to 24,000. Vieira called to the {7-Clubs} and called the bet of 24,000 there. Krivoshein bet 24,000 again on the {3-Diamonds} river and Vieira called.

Victor "Arepo" Krivoshein: {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Joao Vieira: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Board: {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

Vieira only had an ace kicked on the pair of eights on the board, but called it down and had the best on the river for a big chip up. Krivoshein was left short, but doubled the next hand and is still alive. Anatoly Filatov wasn't so lucky as he busted elsewhere around the same time.

Top Five with 35 Left at Break

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

They are just 4 players from the money now as they head to the break. There is still a lot of poker to be played today before they finish, so stick around.

"Picasso98" raised the cutoff to 20,000 and made it 40,000 after Joao Vieira raised the small blind. Vieira called and check-called for 10,000 on the {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop. They both checked the {10-Diamonds} turn, and Vieira bet 20,000 on the {8-Hearts} river. "Picasso98" hit the tank, then called with pocket queens against {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for Vieira.

Vieira Rockets to Lead

Level 17 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Joao Vieira has taken the chip lead, in part in a hand that left Canadian Mike Watson on fumes. Watson was out of position to Vieira's button raise, and check-called all the way with pocket nines into the pocket aces of Vieira. The left Watson with less than a big bet to play with.
