"Synesthesia" Doubles With Lucky River

Level 9 : 250/500, 50 ante

"Synesthesia" opened under the gun for 1,000 and "Rengoku" defended their big blind to see a {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop appear. A series of raises led to "Rengoku" moving all in for 73,788 and "Synesthesia" called off their 38,760 stack.

"Rengoku": {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}
"Synesthesia": {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

"Rengoku" flopped a big blind special and the {k-Clubs} turn was no help to "Synesthesia".

Synesthesia" really needed to find a ten and one appeared as the {10-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, securing their double up.

Through August 3rd, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) will begin hosting daily online gold bracelet events on WSOP.com. There will be 33 bracelets awarded over 32 days, and PokerNews is excited to announce we’ll not only be live reporting all the action but also offering poker fans daily live streams.

Every day, viewers at home will have access to watching the biggest names hunt for bracelets. In conjunction with PokerNews, Jeff Platt will host early action from each tournament at twitch.tv/jeffplatt, starting around the money bubble each day and taking players all the way to the final table.

“I am thrilled to team up with PokerNews to present coverage of the 2021 WSOP Online,” said Platt, who is a co-host of the PokerNews Podcast. “We learned last year that the prestige of bracelet events draws an incredibly passionate audience on Twitch. I can’t wait to interact with that audience again as we crown poker’s newest champions.”

After Platt’s streams, coverage will then shift to twitch.tv/pokernews where PokerNews’ own Jesse Fullen will cover final table action alongside a rotating cast of co-hosts including Alec Torelli, Ryan Laplante, Jesse Sylvia, KL Cleeton, Rampage Poker, and Jaman Burton, among others. The streams will also be featured on YouTube and Facebook.

“WSOP Online will certainly be the biggest online series of the year in the USA. We’re thrilled PokerNews has again stepped up to provide fans a way to follow the action,” said Ty Stewart, Executive Director of the WSOP. “Jeff Platt’s personal streams were a highlight of last year’s online series and we have no doubt the PokerNews final table streams will be an entertaining watch.”

"TheVillager" Falls to "Denda24"

Level 8 : 200/400, 40 ante

"TheVillager" opened under the gun for 800 and only "Denda24" called from the small blind.

The {6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} flop saw "Denda24" check-call the 1,600 continuation bet from the "TheVillager" bringing the {9-Hearts} turn.

"Denda24" check-raised to 9,200 after "TheVillager" fired out 3,600 and was called. Once the {8-Diamonds} completed the baord on the river, "Denda24" moved all in for 23,920 and "TheVillager" called off their 12,195 stack.

"TheVillager" showed {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for two pair but it was no good as "Denda24" rolled over {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for the king-high straight to win the pot.

Ross "BlueTang" Gottlieb Looking For a Taste of WSOP Gold

Level 7 : 175/350, 35 ante
Ross Gottlieb
Ross Gottlieb

Columbus, Ohio's Ross "BlueTang" Gottlieb recorded four cashes in last year's WSOP.com Online Bracelet Series, but it was one huge run that defined his series, and brought him agonizingly close to earning his first career WSOP Gold Bracelet.

In Event #8: $500 NLH Freezeout, Gottlieb found himself at a final table of absolute crushers, including Robert "bustinballs" Kuhn, Scott "miamicane" Davies, and Randy "StayAlive" Ohel among others. Gottlieb was on the shorter side of the counts at the start of the final table, but took the majority of Kuhn's chips with queens to take a commanding lead with five players remaining.

When heads-up play commenced, Gottlieb was back in a 2:1 deficit against Alan "GladiusIII" Goehring, but looked poised to take back command of the battle when the final hand of the tournament took place. Gottlieb, holding king-nine, flopped a king-high straight, while Goehring held ace-three of clubs for a higher straight draw and a flush draw. Gottlieb went from retaking the chip lead to out in one card when the turn was a club, and Gottlieb was forced to settle for $73,942 for a second-place run.

Gottlieb, who describes himself on his Twitter bio as a "full time veterinarian, part time button clicker", is back in action for this year's series, and looks to have a full schedule of events to play in his quest to finish one spot higher in an event this year, and lay claim to a WSOP Gold Bracelet.
