Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Garry Gates
Garry Gates

Garry "GoKnightsGo" Gates raised to 14,000 from the hijack and Pierce "Victoria53" Mckellar defended his big blind to see a {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop appear.

Mckellar led out for 30,000, Gates called off his remaining 3,772 stack and the two hands were revealed.

Garry "GoKnightsGo" Gates: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Pierce "Victoria53" Mckellar: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Gates was behind needing an ace or nine to stay alive but the {q-Clubs} turn gave Mckellar a set of ladies and the {j-Clubs} river paired the board, eliminating Gates on the money bubble.

Soderstrom Flops the Nuts

Level 15 : 1,250/2,500, 0 ante
Tomas Soderstrom
Tomas Soderstrom

Tomas "Excella" Soderstrom raised to 6,00 from the cutoff and then called the 19,250 three-bet Christopher "EntombExhume" Demaci made from the big blind.

Once the {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop appeared, Demaci jammed for 37,841 and was snap-called by Soderstrom.

Tomas "Excella" Soderstrom: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Christopher "EntombExhume" Demaci: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs}

Soderstrom flopped the nut straight and if that wasn't bad enough for Demaci, he also held the nut flush draw.

Demaci needed a lot of help if he wished to stay alive but the {3-Spades} turn left him drawing dead and the {a-Hearts} river ended his tournament.
