Event #8: $1,000 No Limit Hold'em PA Championship saw 88 hopefuls return from the 311 entrants that fired in the three Day 1 starting flights. With $65,525 up top, it was another Philadelphia native to claim the WSOP Gold Bracelet, something that has become a theme in the prior events. Andrew "LoveToLose" Porter was able to lock up the cash and the jewelry after a five-hour Day 2 that saw a swift amount of action and eliminations from start to finish.

Porter, who earned four cashes in the WSOP.com Online Series in New Jersey/Nevada in July, had two cashes on his record for five-figures, including his top score of $15,000 for finishing in third-place in a Parx Big Stax XXVIII $500 No Limit Hold'em event. This win nearly triples his Hendon Mob recorded earnings and pushes him over the six-figure mark in career earnings. Porter, the "Digital guy for SportsRadioWIP" according to his Twitter bio, will certainly have a lot to talk about in the coming days as he celebrates a well-earned WSOP Gold Bracelet victory.

Final Table Action

Derek "4evergr8" Duckett started the final table as the short stack, and wasn't able to get any short stack magic going, as he dwindled down to just under four big blinds and promptly lost a flip to Levi "AmosSlade" Espeseth to be the first player eliminated at the final table.

Next to go was Twitch Streamer Drew "MoveBlanket" Gonzalez, who four-bet jammed with ace-seven suited over a three-bet by Andrew "LoveToLose" Porter, in what was a pivotal hand at the final table. Porter held the goods with pocket queens, and flopped a set to leave Gonzalez shy of a bracelet again in his second final table of the series.

After Joshua "ArmyWife1972" Rivera got his queens coolered by the aces of "nevermuk24" to fall in seventh, the only WSOP Gold Bracelet winner at the final table was next to go. Michael "TonyBandanas" Lavin, who won his bracelet in this very series in Event #7: $600 No Limit Hold'em Monster Stack, got his last twenty big blinds in preflop holding pocket tens, but it was Espeseth's turn with the rockets, as Espeseth called with aces and spoiled Lavin's run at his second WSOP Gold Bracelet in three days.

Solve For Why Academy founder and poker pro Matt "berkey11" Berkey, who started the day second in chips after bagging up the chip lead in yesterday's Day 1c, was next to go. Berkey found himself with a below average stack for much of the final table, and got it in for around six big blinds with king-eight. Porter was waiting with ace-eight in the big blind, however, and Berkey bricked off to finish in fifth.

From there, the stacks evened out, until two quick hands brought the table to heads-up play. First, Ryan "TheDuce" McCarroll blinded down and jammed king-seven into the ace-nine of "nevermuk24" to fall in fourth. Shortly after, Espeseth flopped an open-ended straight draw with queen-jack and fired all three streets, including a jam on the river after bricking out. Porter had flopped top pair with king-queen and called, and Porter took the chip lead into heads-up play with "nevermuk24".

Although "nevermuk24" briefly managed to regain the chip lead at one point, Porter would not be denied, and set a trap on the last hand to secure the bracelet. Porter limped in from the button, and "nevermuk24" jammed for around seventeen big blinds. Porter had jacks and called, and "nevermuk24" could only hit a deuce with their ace-deuce, sending the WSOP Gold Bracelet and $65,525 back to Philly.
