Negreanu's Stack Getting Short

Level 23

Daniel Negreanu was just on the wrong end of a huge four-way pot.

The action began after a player in early position limped. The cutoff raised and was called by Dana Kellstrom in the small blind, Negreanu in the big blind, and the early position opener as well.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}, and the players checked to the player in the cutoff, who bet. Everyone else called, and the turn brought the {k-Clubs}. The cutoff bet his last 29,000 which was called by Kellstrom, Negreanu, and the early position player.

Before the dealer put out the river card, Negreanu said "I bet everyone's thinking of a card".

Obviously, the {9-Spades} wasn't what Negreanu had in mind, because after Kellstrom bet his last 3,000 from the small blind, Negreanu folded, and the early position player called.

Once the cards were all tabled, Kellstrom's {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} was good enough to scoop the pot with two pair, kings and nines, while the cutoff player was eliminated.

Linde Gets Multiple Folds

Level 22

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Author of "Mastering Mixed Games" Dylan Linde is one of several mixed game masters still in the tournament.

In a recent four-way pot, Linde bet 40,000 in position on a {2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop versus players in the blinds and early position, and received all folds to drag a much-needed pot, as his stack is below the tournament average at the moment.

Thida Lin raised to 32,000 from under the gun and action folded around to Ryan Laplante for a call from the big blind.

The flop was {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Laplante checked. Lin shoved for around 35,000. Laplante called.

The turn was {10-Diamonds} and the river was {10-Spades}. Lin turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} to take the pot with aces and tens while Laplante showed {7-}{4-}{2-}{x-} for the losing hand.
