Roberts Busted in Classic Race

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Not long after losing part of her stack, Lisa Roberts had the opportunity to get it back and plenty more, but instead will have to try again tomorrow.

According to Roberts, Freddie Burnsed raised to 4,000 on the button, and Roberts three-bet him from the big blind to 16,000. Burnsed then moved all-in and Roberts called, creating a huge pot preflop.

Lisa Roberts: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Freddie Burnsed: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The board brought no help to Roberts, and she exits with the opportunity to play day 1b tomorrow, while Burnsed could now carry a very healthy stack into day 2.

The action was picked up on the flop with the board showing {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Steve Zolotow made a bet of 9,000.

His opponent tanked briefly before he folded and Zolotow scooped in the pot.

The two-time WSOP bracelet winner is one of few bracelet winners remaining in the field for day 1a.

He will be looking to make a deep run in this one to put himself in a position to win another one.

Roberts' Ace Dominated

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Lisa Roberts has been cruising through the field today, but recently took a small hit to her still healthy stack.

Roberts opened the action with a raise to 3,200 in middle position and got three-bet by a player in late position to 16,000. He had just a couple thousand behind.

The big blind then went all-in for 5,100, and Roberts decided to gamble and move in for a three-way pot.

Big Blind: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Late Position: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Lisa Roberts: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, holding the late position player's lead. The {k-Clubs} solidified it but gave Roberts and the big blind outs to a straight. Despite her asking nicely for a queen on the river, the {7-Clubs} fell on the river instead, doubling the late position player through Roberts.
