Bluffing Phil Ivey All In with Seven-High in a $200K Buy-In Tournament?

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Emptying the clip on a bluff with seven-high against Phil Ivey is a gutsy play, and that's exactly what Christoph Vogelsang attempted on Day 2 of the $200,000 buy-in Coin Rivet Invitational at Triton Poker Cyprus.

Ivey was on his second bullet after busting with a king-high flush against the nut flush of Linus Loeliger during the first level of Day 1. Vogelsang likely knew that and took that into consideration when he put the Poker Hall of Famer to the test.

Alex "OrcinusOrca" Foxen

Blinds 25/50/5

Action started with an open to 150 from Raman ""Acrogum" Afanasenka in the cutoff and next to act was Sergei "Copone" Kislinskii on the button who made the call. Alex "OrcinusOrca" Foxen elected on a three-bet out of the small blind to 1,050 and only Kislinskii came along.

The flop came {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}, Foxen led out for 1,755 and Kislinskii made the call. On the {8-Spades} turn Foxen slowed down with a check and Kislinskii bet 1,755, which Foxen called.

The {5-Spades} completed the board and both players checked to a showdown. Foxen revealed {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and Kislinskii's hand went into the muck, shipping the early pot to the chip leader.
