Chi Nguyen went all in for his remaining 10,500,000 in middle positition and was called by Robert Gittelman, who had him covered.

Gittelman expressed throughout the tournament that he's superstitious about watching the board run out, so every time he or someone else was at risk and all in preflop he steps away from the table and turned his back. Except for the time he didn't; he lost those times.

The flop brought the J♦9♣J♥ to the hushed table, but when the A♠ hit pulling Nguyen ahead, the table couldn't help but tell Gittelman the score. Gittelman, unwilling to turn around until the deed was done, chose not to listen to his tablemates' cries until the 10♦ hit the river and secured him a huge pot.
