Khan Scores Big Double Up

Level 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Suhail Khan found himself involved in a huge hand shortly before the dinner break.

A player in middle position raised before the flop and Khan called in the small blind after the button folded. The big blind also folded.

The flop saw 867. Khan checked and his opponent bet 25,000, which was met by Khan check-raising to 65,000. His opponent briefly studied the board before making the call.

The 6 appeared on the turn to pair the board, and Khan moved all in for his remaining 142,500 chips. His opponent went in the tank for at least a minute, and then asked for a count. Upon hearing the amount, Khan’s opponent once again went in the tank while studying the board. Khan’s opponent, who had Khan covered, eventually made the call.

Khan: A8
Opponent: 107

Khan had top pair, top kicker, while his opponent had middle pair and gut-shot straight draw.

Jenco Hits Straight to Stay Alive

Level 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Jack Jenco was down to his last 44,000 chips in middle position, leaving him with less than ten big blinds.

He moved all in, and was quickly called by a player on the button. The two blinds folded, leading to Jenco and his opponent to table their hands.

Jenco: K10
Opponent: QQ

Jenco was behind, but the flop of 9J3 gave him additional outs with a gut-shot straight draw if his opponent hit a set.

That exact scenario happened on the turn, when Q hit the board and Jenco took the lead with a straight. With his opponent now holding a set, Jenco now had to dodge the board pairing, He survived when 6 appeared on the river.
